October - Wisconsin Trip

We made a trip to Wisconsin and had a blast! With the kids homeschooling, and Paul working from home, this was the beginning of lots of trips. So fun. We played lots of games, picked LOTS of pumpkins and gourds, ate lots of yummy food, and had a good time all around.

Day one of heading to the fields to start picking pumpkins. Louie had already clipped most of the pumpkins from the vine, then we rolled them out of the way, and loaded up the trailer. I think we counted 400, but I could be wrong. There were SO many!

We went to Robin's house to see Dad's old car that she and John bought. Plus we got to play with the dogs and the toys Robin has at the ready for whenever she gets a grand baby. Ha ha ha.

Found this note with Jolie's name on it at Robin's house, made us all laugh.

Back to the farm and some sorting and putting up more signs.

Egg collecting and feeding the chickens. The machete watermelon fun was too silly. The kids (and Paul!) loved being able to chop up the watermelons for the the chickens.

Back at the house, Matix got to show Grandma the game he programmed. He was so proud to show off his skills.

Picking baby pears to snack on, yum!

Getting their homeschool work done at the kitchen table and other days on the screened in porch.

We went for a little walk at a campground area we used to go to when I was a child. The leaves were changing and it was really pretty. We had a picnic and reminisced there.

We looked through some old pictures and these are some of my favorites that we saw. Here I am with Jolie looking at brand new baby Mackenzie. So sweet.

Jolie with my dad at one of our favorite hotels. I think this was the one with a glass window between the indoor and outdoor pools where you could swim under to get from one to another.

This is one of my best outfits. I loved this one.

The kids got to pick out their favorite pumpkins and carve them. They all turned out great and really different.

The kids got to pick Indian corn and loved seeing all the various colors! Beautiful! Good thing Hawk had so many pockets!

Now it's time to pick gourds! We had to clip these from their vines first, then piled them up, then loaded them in the trailer. It was a LOT of work, but the kids did well helping.

After all that work every day, we were all pooped out early. Here are all the party animals at 9pm. Ha ha ha.

Out to eat with some of my sisters and nieces and nephews. It's always nice to see them and get together for even a little while.
