September

With the kids being home now, they have lots of time to help with the day to day things, and learn some new skills. They built this cat tower all on their own. They had to follow the directions and use some tools. I was very impressed, and the cats love it.

I got my hair done, it went from this faded purple silver blue to red. In some lights it looked to have a little orange in it too, but mostly red. I love it.

Lullaby wanted her hair with crown braids wrapping around the back and some hair still down. This was the result, she said I did it just right.

I decided to turn these pendant lights over our kitchen island into bigger lights by braiding a lampshade. I love how they turned out.

Paul got head hunted to be the new Chief Medical Officer at Wahiawa Health on Oahu. He quit his job at Revere to be the CMO full time. It's been SO nice having him home! This job usually isn't offered to such young doctors, and we're super proud of Paul and his hard work to get here!  Also, on the local facebook pages we saw lots of love for Paul, even though he was leaving that position. It's great to know how loved he was in Utah.

Even his Medical School got word that he was named CMO and posted about it. Pretty cool.

We celebrated with fireworks in the backyard and a few treats for his new at home office.

Matix did a few art projects and they turned out so good! It got pretty messy through and we were happy we had a big garage for the artist.

The kids all made bracelets with crystal beads and had a fun time of it. I didn't anticipate this activity lasting as long as it did.

More views of the homeschooling. We do most of their lessons online and then supplement with worksheets, books, etc., when needed.

Matix has been loving learning new songs on the piano. This song "7 Years" was on the radio, he loved it, watched one video where someone else played it, then figured this much of it out. I'm so impressed.

Matix asked to use the power tools to make the kitty benches for the new "kitty room".  At night, the cats kept waking everyone up, so we made them a little room with access to the outside, but still warm and cozy. They love it, and we love getting good sleep.

One of our homeschool groups at a nature park, so pretty. The kids played in the stream for a couple hours.

Homeschool Sports Group playing flag football. The kids loved it!

We got lots of crafts, experiments, and hands-on activities for the kids to do during the homeschool day. They love the activities that they all get to do together the best. So much fun.

More of the day to day at their computers.

Cookies for some friends, and lots for us.

Lullaby got to start on her Christmas present for Solace. It's a large paint-by-number picture of Pikachu. It took her months of working on it for the 30 minutes after Solace went to bed, before she had to go to bed.

Hawken took a Physical Education class, that was equally focused on health and nutrition as it was on fitness. He made us this pizza, with cauliflower crust, cashew sauce, and lots of veggies and cheese. It was super yummy and a healthier choice than regular pizza.

Lullaby's friend Macey and her mom Mandy, invited us to go to Thanksgiving Point and see the Butterfly Biosphere. It was so much fun. We decided to get our own family pass. It includes the Butterfly Biosphere, the Museum of Natural Curiosity, the Museum of Ancient Life, the Farm, and more. We've really loved it.

The very next day, we went back again and first headed to the children's museum called the Museum of Natural Curiosity. It is SO fun.

So many amazing activities in this post. I always wish we lived closer. I am especially impressed with all the comments about Dr. Paul Berg (but not the least bit surprised!)
