Measuring on the measuring stick. Lullaby at 10 was taller than I was at 10. Fun to see the differences.
My mom made this DETAILED list, which made me laugh. She's a list girl, and I'm not.
More school time on the porch.
Paul was "supervising" the schooling. Just kidding, working on the farm is a lot of tiring work!
We went to the bins with Heather, Hawken's favorite. It was fun to try and find treasures. Hawken came back with treats for everyone.
Out to eat at Kewpees with my mom, Louie, and Kenz and her kids. It was cute to watch them all getting along so well. Grandma and Grandpa's treat, thanks!
We went down to the beach with Kenz and the kids, played at the park, and splashed in the cold lake. Brrr!
Home to Grandma and Grandpa's house to make pies and do their own signature in their crust.
Grandpa made a fire for the kids near the house, and we roasted marshmallows until it was REALLY dark. Always room for a treat!
Tree climbing in the apple trees is a MUST for time on the farm.
Grandpa made it so this lawn mower wouldn't use the blade for cutting grass, it was more of a farm car for the kids. They loved it.
Lots of snuggles with Grandma Kim.
Grandpa needed an area re-seeded with grass down by Hank's house, the kids were a big help.
Making more pies, this time it was pumpkin pie, my favorite!
More game playing, this time it was Rummikub.
More work on the farm, this time the kids got to try out a log splitter! First Grandpa had to cut down the dead tree, and then we got to work! It was faster work with so many helpers.
Alma and her kids came over and they got the go karts out to ride around. This kept them busy for a LONG time! Plus some chicken catching fun for Lullaby.
We went to see the new Marvel movie, Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings with some of my sisters and some of the nieces and nephews. Not as big of a crew as would have been there if my dad were still here, but better than none. We loved watching it and laughing and talking afterward. Certain places and activities in Wisconsin will always make me miss my dad.
We stopped at Nicky's house on the way back to the farm. Matix caught a wild rabbit, of course.
We took a walk down to the lake with him and Hunter, since it's right near his house. So nice. I love these boys.
We drove past what used to be my high school, Walden, which was torn down. Paul got a brick for me from the big pile as a little keepsake.
Solace's new (again) obsession is Pokemon. He really loves telling me all about what he's reading, doing some math to figure out who would win in a battle and why, and which cards he has, or wants.
Louie made a HUGE bonfire way in the back by the fields, and the kids LOVED it. They even built their own mini fire nearby.
I scared Louie a couple times and got my mom once. The other videos weren't as good, but this one was good. Enjoy.
And another treasure. Every night these two pretend to watch tv together, instead, they cuddle on the couch and fall asleep, then at some point, they wake up and go to their bed. Ha haha.
My mom and I went through a LOT of my Grandma's things to see what I wanted. It was really fun, and not as sad as I thought it might be, to go through everything and see all the treasures.
This was a fun trip, and the kids (and Paul and I) learned a ton. Here's a video full of several clips, including the "this is where we keep the flies" comment from my mom, which makes us all laugh every time we hear it.
On our way home after a fun trip. Thanks for having us Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!
