There has been lots of rain lately, like for a few months. It's very weird, and not like it was here last spring. We didn't have any flooding near our house, thankfully, but did get our usual mud puddles in the backyard, which of course, the kids were thrilled about. It looks like more rain is coming our way again, and we're okay with it, as long as we don't flood like a few miles north of us...

Home
We went to see the movie "Home" after Paul finished a rather large test (STEP 3), and it was SO cute. We all really loved it. Plus we were one of only two families in our theatre! It was perfect for our wandering baby and chatty kids. :)
Matix just started getting shy of my paparazzi-like ways. Not always, but sometimes. I hope he gets over that quickly, because I will NOT stop taking pictures of my favorite people.
Plus, Paul felt really good about his test, which means we were all in a really good mood. Still lots of waiting until we get his results, but I'm not concerned.

9 YEARS!
Nine years ago, I made the best decision ever. I said, "Yes!", "I do.", and "I'll love you forever", and although 9 years isn't nearly forever, it's a very LONG time. Paul had 1/2 of Friday off, all of Saturday, Sunday and Monday off, and (thanks to the rain) all of Tuesday off too. It was a lovely long weekend to enjoy ourselves and our family and the life we've built together. Nine years ago, I couldn't have imagined what life would look like now, but I'm sure happy it's gone the way it has. I love Paul more than ever and am so thankful to call him MINE. :) Love you hubby! You're the best!! He sent me my favorite treats (chocolate and fruit - yes please!) delivered to the door moments after he left for work this morning. What a lovely surprise!
And, just for fun, a countdown of sorts… Happy ANNIVERSARY!!9 years of marriage
8 million house projects
7 billion movie dates
6 homes (not including the temporary ones along the way)
5 cities
4 kids(!!!!)
3 arguments won by Paul (just kidding, it's more like 4)
2 countries
1 year of residency left
School's OUT
Well, this is the first Wednesday withOUT preschoolers here (with a few exceptions during breaks) since September, and I'm ready to call up their moms and change our schedule to be year-round. I was totally spoiled with these boys this year. We did an end-of-the-year celebration and graduation party (pictures to come) and I nearly cried. I love these little guys!
The Art Car Parade
We went to the Art Car Parade in April. It's the most fun parade we've ever seen. The parade itself was a few hours long, but no one got bored. Even Solace even sat happily through it with only one attempted escape. There is an Art Car Museum here too that houses a couple of these cars, that you can visit whenever you want to (for free). But seeing them in parade form is way more interesting!
We had great seats, because it had rained the night before and no one wanted to sit near a puddle. We were fine with it and didn't have to fight a crowd to see. Perfect.
More awesome cars. And we only took pictures of our favorites too. There were more than 200 entries.
These two zombie cars were NOT our favorites. The kids didn't like them very well at all, and they didn't seem to fit much with such a fun, happy, family friendly event… But I guess it would depend what kind of family.
Of course there were some low rider cars riding all crazy. The kids asked why our cars couldn't do those tricks… :)
And, of course, a few video clips of the parade. It was so fun!
Matix and Paul had my phone to take pictures, so there were even MORE pictures than usual to sift through, but on the plus side, I am in a couple pictures instead of just the group shot that I requested at the end.
We met up with some of our friends while we were there, and Lullaby LOVED having her friend Sophia and a NEW BABY to play with.
Mostly a group shot. Sophia stepped out of the picture right as the guy was taking it. Oh well. It was so much fun.
Then we all went out for ice cream afterward. So much fun!
