beach day x2

We headed to Poipu beach for a day with friends, but when we got there, we realized most of Kauai had the same idea as us, and it was really busy... After posing with the seals that frequent that beach, we headed to Gillans for some more secluded beach time.

We had Gillans all to ourselves, until our friends got there.

Hanging out with a very cuddly little boy.

We hunted for creatures like this sea cucumber in the tide pools and took turns swinging on the rope swings over the water.

Then our friends got there, we ate lunch together and then hiked to a special spot. This is the most beautiful beach, and hike, it's breaking in every direction.

There are cracks along the way where air is pushed up through from the waves crashing into underground caves. It forces a big blast of air up and sounds like dragons breathing. We call that beach dragon beach now.

These sharp over hanging rocks are so amazing to see in really life. The pictures do not do it justice.

More dragon's breath.

And finally we got to the special spot. Isn't this beautiful?!

There is a rock labyrinth up top, and sea cliffs with caves, and a private beach, and tide pools. It's so amazing.

If you hike even a little further, you end up at a very tall rocky cliff where we watched whales swimming by.
Such a fun day with our friends. We tried really hard to get them to stay here in Kauai, but it didn't work. We will take them any way we can though. So fun.
