Logan was camping, so he missed out. We'll have to make another video soon, now that's he's back. Also, for interested family, I update their preschool blog weekly of the things we've been up to. The blog address is HoustonKindergartenPrep.blogspot.com, and I'll put the link on the side bar.

3 Billy Goats Gruff
Hawken has been loving preschool this year. He loved it last year too, but he was begging for more structure and more preschool time, and this year, he gets it. Right now we are doing a lot with folk tales, so acting them out in their play comes naturally. This day, I filmed them and prepped them that I was going to make it into a movie. They did really well and loved acting it out for an audience. Here is the final product.

Children's Museum
The Children's Museum is our favorite place, ever. You can't beat it. Corn dogs and movies, yes please.
Free books, yes please. Building things with your Dad, yes please.
3 story climbing structure, yes please. Seriously. This place is too good.

in the tub
Today Matix finally had his LEGO party! He has been waiting for (what seemed like) YEARS to have this party. Lots of friends were able to come, and he had the best time ever. Pictures from the party to come. For now, enjoy these adorable bath time pics. I have the cutest kids in the world. Seriously.

Matix opens gifts
Matix opened his presents on his birthday and was VERY pleased with all his loot. Thank you to all the grandparents, great-grandparents and his siblings. He is so expressive, can you tell how happy he was?!
Grandma Kim sent extra gifties for the non-birthday kids. So thoughtful. Thank you Grandma. Great-Grandma Evie also sent Hawken a card. It is so hard for him to see EVERYONE have a birthday without him. Thank you.
More presents. Yay!
Mom and Dad got extra points too, when he realized we didn't give him anything, and then Paul wheeled in his new BIKE! He was thrilled.
Minutes after getting his new bike, we had to get ready for church. After church and lunch and naps, then we went back out to the cul-de-sac for some more bike FUN. Right away, we took off the training wheels and he rode withOUT training wheels! He was a pro and understood what to do immediately. Like, he never once fell. What? He would drop his bike when he stopped because he kept forgetting that it wouldn't stand on it's own, but that's all. There was no learning, he just knew. It was crazy to watch. I didn't video the very first run, but this is the second one, and several after that. So impressive.

family portrait
Another work of art from Matix. He loves LOVES art class and comes home telling me things he's pretty sure only his genius art teacher knows, like if you peel a crayon you can lay it down and color in a different way?!! What a smart lady. I love that she gets him so excited about it.
opening presents!
Lullaby had lots of presents this year! She got packages delivered from out of state grandparents, two of them sent money to me to buy her a gift, so those were in the pile too. Plus, Matix and Hawken each picked out a secret book for her from the Children's Museum (and forfeited theirs). So sweet. She loved opening presents. We waited until the afternoon when Paul was home, so he could be a part of it too.
The boys had little gifties from Grandma Kim to open while Lullaby went through her pile. That was so thoughtful! Thank you!
Hugs all around for the many thoughtful things. Grandma Kim and Grandma Stacy have been paying attention to the blog and know that Lullaby loves her babies. Grandma Kim got her a baby doll swing, backpack, and other dollie accessories. Grandma Stacy got her a crib for her babies. So perfect! Thank you!
She also got books, dress-up shoes, a princess ball, some more Snap N' Style dolls and some money to pick out more things. Thank you thank you thank you to Grandpa Chuck, Great Grandma Evie and Great Grandma and Grandpa Berg! After all the presents, we ate cupcakes and sang happy birthday to our favorite little girl.

Lullaby's first skateboard
The evening before Lullaby's birthday, Paul got home and we loaded everyone up to go to the skate shop to buy Lullaby her first skateboard. What, doesn't every little girl dream of having her own board? Well, Lullaby did. :) She picked out a deck with a rainbow unicorn on it, and pink grip tape. Perfection.
Afterward, we went out to try it out. Everyone had turns. Lullaby was SO excited, and so was Paul. Can you tell?
Solace loved it so much, he cried and crawled after the big kids when they were having turns withOUT him. Poor guy. He wants a skateboard for his 2nd birthday.
