Finally caught up to October, and it's January... Maybe working on the blog should be my New Year's resolution. We love that the sacrament bread here isn't always plain bread, sometimes it's sweet guava bread. Yes please.

Making silly faces with this little guy. He's such a cuddle bug still.

Matix and Hawken love to play the teacher and teach the little two how to do some new math, science, reading, or social studies skill. This was a math game teaching about place value. I was impressed that even Solace understood, although he's a math whiz as it is already.

Play date at the park with Erin and her kids. We had a blast as usual, and Matix brought his bow and arrows for everyone to try out in the huge field there.

Quick beach day with friends after running errands, yes please.

Option's Day continues to be a highlight of the week for the kids. They really love all the new things they get to learn and participate in.

Paul built Grass a larger box once the kittens reached a week old. He copied Andy's design with a small area for the kittens to crawl into if they accidentally get squished along the sides. I supplemented the kittens with kitten formula, since Grass continued to remove one or more kittens and try to not feed them. It was a lot of work, but they all survived and were healthy.

Teo more of Nathan Pyle's cartoons that gave me a chuckle. They are usually so well timed with my life too! Ha ha ha.

I was asked to bake this triple chocolate cake for Katie's 25th birthday. She's a big Harry Potter fan and had some really specific instructions. She said she LOVED it, so it was a win. Also, carving a wand out of chocolate was easier in my mind.

Then we got to go to the party and she was SO happy all night. It was really fun to see. Happy birthday Katie!

We also found out where Winnie was hiding the best treat, and Audra and I snuck in there to get some (with permission). Yum! It had avocados, limes, and lots and lots of sugar... Maybe others ingredients as well.

I was asked to make these starfish and seashell cookies for a little girl's birthday party. They picked the colors, and were very pleased with how they came out.

What they didn't know was that ALL the starfish in the first batch broke. Thank goodness I gave myself enough time to totally start over.

We had lots left over (I only ever send out the best of the best), and we had Katie and her parents over for dinner.

More orchids blooming in the yard. It's so beautiful here.

More lemons growing, yes please.

Ice cream on the beach with friends is as good as it gets.

You know I love a good scary movie and as soon as birthdays are over, I'm in full Halloween mode. I watched lots of scary shows and sometimes creep myself out. This cartoon made me laugh out loud.

Option's Day

Option's Day classes started again at the end of September and we started off on the right foot by bringing white ginger from our yard to each of the teachers. The kids are taking dance, Hawaiian Studies, and art as their main classes, but they also get to choose each week which class they'd like to take for their 4th hour class. They chose from Lego robotics, sewing, Makahiki games, board games, Rubix cube, yoga/mindfulness, and lots more. It's so fun for them. The classes are held in a location closer to the house this time too, which makes me like it better too.

Coconut Island

We went as a family to Coconut Island for the day.  Jumping in the usual, and the unusual spots was the goal that day. So fun.
