This is the garden. If you can believe it, it's even bigger now. Everything grows like crazy here and the veggies are SO yummy, and plentiful. The kids love to run outside after school and pick their snacks. Yes please.

beach day
On his way from one beach to another, Sully fell asleep ing the car, poor thing. But oooohhh, those lashes, that profile, those chubby slightly dirty cheeks. That's perfection right there.
He stayed asleep as I carried him to the beach. And he slept for a long time.
He even stayed sleeping as Lullaby helped me dig this bed for him, covered it in a towel and put him in it.
Hawken and I wrote each other messages with seashells, while Paul and Matix surfed until the sun went down.
Just as Sully woke up, Lullaby passed out. Poor things. Hawaii can really take it out of you!
friend party
Matix's friend Layla from school had a birthday party at the pool and it was SO much fun. They invited the other kids to play and eat too, so it was a family affair and everyone had a blast. Happy Birthday!
Here are some more friends from his class.
cucumbers
The first two cucumbers harvested from the garden were eaten FAST! They were really juicy and sweet. The kids were extra excited that they grew them! It's so amazing growing your own food.
bachelor
Every Tuesday night, some of our friends would come over, mostly for the food, but partly for the SHOW. We watched the Bachelor, as usual, and this season even the husbands got into it! Ha! It was so much fun!
The night of the finale was the BEST. It was a feast! Everyone brought tons of food, and we all anxiously watched... It was a nail biter, but MY girl won!! I didn't win the whole season though, in fact I came in dead last in the BachFantasy game we played. Pam was the really winner. It was an interesting season and I'm happy we got to watch it all together.
seashells
Lullaby LOVES seashells. It is one of her favorite things to do, collect and sort them. She would sit there all day if I let her. Each shell is special and unique. She is excited about each one, mentally cataloging it just in case she drops on one the way to the car, then she knows which one to mourn. Her hair is brushed when we first drive and is tangled into sea sprayed knots by the time we leave. She only ever gets a little pink from the sun below her eyes on her cheeks, which makes her look even more angelic. So sweet.
play date
Hollie let me steal Lanna away for a play date with Lullaby. They had a fancy lunch, went to two parks and the splash pad, and watched some of Moana while they sorted seashells. A very fun date, planned entirely by Lullaby.
lunch notes
Paul and I sometimes write little notes for the big boys in their lunch boxes, and sometimes Lullaby and I write them for Paul's. We like to be sneaky about it, which can be hard int he morning. Here's one of the notes for him. So sweet.
"DADi LOVE YOU
FrOM
LUllABY"
look-a-like!
While in the parking lot, talking to my little sister, Jolie, I looked up to see... MY DAD?! So then like a creeper, I put my sister on speaker phone, as I started taking pictures of her. I text them to her right away, and she agreed. My dad lives in Wisconsin, and I know this wasn't him, but seriously, for those of you who know him, LOOK. It that not him?!
whale watching
We went out whale watching with some friends again. This time we brought Ashley and Derrick, Andy and Phuong, and Andy's parents who were in town visiting. We left out of Waianae this time, and luck was on our side! We saw TONS of whales. It was really exciting. I tried to get video and better pictures, but honestly, the waves were big and it was hard to hold the camera still enough. No videos to show for our two hour adventure, but I got a few pics. It was so much fun. Thanks for coming with us!
There were more spouts than anything else, and it was amazing to see. At one point the whales were QUITE close to the boat, which surprised us completely because we had been looking much farther at another small group.
The views of the island from the West side are much better than what we saw in Waikiki. It's so beautiful over there, and pretty much untouched.
breakfast at the beach
There is a cute little restaurant in our community right on the beach that serves a delicious breakfast on Saturday mornings. The kids and I went there one Saturday to enjoy a tasty second breakfast, and then we played on the beach until nap time. Not too bad of a life.
