rain rain

When it rains it's sometimes cold here, but on the warm rain days we play. Even early in the morning, even in our jammies, even when the big boys haven't gotten up yet.  Yes, Lullaby wears a tutu with her jammies to bed. Of course she does.

We went for a tiny walk and Lullaby found a frog. It was pretty big and she loved him. I'm not sure how, but he survived her too. I love these pictures.

Here she is teasing Sully with it. Because "Sully might hurt this so cute froggie." She says while squeezing the frog VERY tightly...

6 year old logic

When mom is on the phone with her sister (for the first time in weeks) is obviously the best time to bring a strange bug into the house from the backyard. Obviously.

the bug hunt

I seriously love having a little pack of kids who follow me around and think I'm cool (three days a week). My kids don't think I'm that cool on other days, but on days that I'm Ms. Jessie, I have all the kids oohing and ahhing over every little thing I teach them. Our bug hunt was a HUGE success. I bought them all little nets and off we went. Preschool is such the perfect age.

Solace tried his best to keep up with the big guys. So funny.

Aren't these pictures magical? They were SO into it!

friends

We went to Lullaby's friend Christian's house for a play date a few times and had a blast. I almost always forget to take pictures during play dates, and have been missing a lot of them lately, but I like looking back at these pictures.

Trying to get the kids to leave this fun filled house was almost comical. They kept finding more fun things to do. After nearly walking out the door myself, they each had to take a turn doing a puppet show, of course.

Then Christian and Lullaby couldn't stop hugging each other, even when he knocked her over and then she wouldn't let him go. Stinkers. I'm excited to see how these two behave in preschool together next year. Should be entertaining.

spring break fun

Free ice cream at Dairy Queen, celebrating their anniversary, yes please! Sully poses with things in front of his face as soon as he sees that I have my camera out. Silly thing!

We definitely made the most of our spring break, even though we didn't ever go to the beach. Spring break seems like such a perfect beach day, but Paul worked the whole time and we don't ever go there without him.

Hawken tried his hardest to drink his ice cream, which didn't really work. He never likes to get dirty...

First brain freeze of the day went to Matix, who was inhaling his ice cream so fast. I was actually surprised this didn't happen sooner. He of course made a HUGE deal out of it, and then, just like that, he was fine.

Sweet Sully boy did pretty well with his own cone, although I had to clean up the drips every two seconds, which I didn't mind.

HCM

We met up with some friends at the museum to make it that much better. The kids are obsessed with playing with friends.

Hawken and Logan are two peas in a pod. It's so funny watching them interact. It makes Matix feel left out a lot, because he's used to being Hawken's best friend, but such is life and sometimes friendships are just as important and siblings.

Sully took turns happily playing by himself and sneaking off trying to climb up the stairs as fast as he could. He's been SUCH a quick little stinker lately.

The word has been getting out about our beloved story time and free books. They are PACKED now, which is fun and annoying at the same time. I'm glad so many people are taking advantage of this amazing program, but bummed it means we have to pack in there and wait so much longer for our turn to get books.

mail call

Getting the mail is a job for the BIG BOYS. They love being in charge of that and I don't mind since it's just far enough away that I don't really want to get it, but close enough that I know they are safe and feeling very helpful. They love to be helpful. They always come back with the report of how crazy it was and how much mail we got and who they are all for. It's important stuff.

The Bachelor

Watching The Bachelor with friends always makes for a fun night. I had sort of an open house and people came when they could. One night it was just 1 friend, plus us, and the next week there were 10 girls plus us.  There were different amounts of girls each time, but such a great excuse to get together and have a relaxing trash tv evening. :) And I love my group of friends here, they are so wonderful. Paul was always a good sport and watched too, although I'm pretty sure he likes the show as much as we do. Here are pictures from a few of the nights. The season ended well and hopefully they will stay together.  In May, the new season starts of The Bachelorette, and I'm planning on doing this again. It was so fun for me.

I made lots of fancy drinks, minus alcohol, because I don't do that. It was fun making them and thinking up fun combinations when I ran out of the ones I knew. Mint Juleps and Cinderellas were the favorites, I think. Until May…

preschool

See the sleepy bunnies sleeping till it's nearly noon. Should we wake them with this merry tune? They're so still, shhh, shhh, are they ill? Shh, shh… (read in a sing song-y voice while the kids pretend to be sleeping)
Hop like a bunny, hop hop hop! Hop like a bunny HOP HOP HOP! (Read more like yelling as the kids hop and jump and giggle like crazy - I love preschool)

pancakes

Dragons, dinosaurs and deep sea monsters… Oh my! When Paul makes pancakes, he sometimes has a theme. :) These kids are so spoiled, and they have no idea.

music class

I took the kids to my friend's music class and the kids seriously loved it.  There was singing and musical instruments and a quick story time. So much fun! It's on Tuesdays, which is usually our play day with friends, or our running errands day, so we've only been once so far.  Hopefully I can make it a more regular thing, Keisha (the teacher - my friend) is pretty good at what she does.
