A play date with Lullaby's friend at her house, in her homemade treehouse, was always a treat.

The First Saturday activity in our town was always exciting.  This particular time, I only took Hannah and Solace. The other kids stayed with Amy at her house.

In May, the eruption started on the Big Island, and by June the lava was threatening our friend's house in Vacationland. It was scary hitting refresh on the google map each day to see where the lava had spread to.

The world's most tolerant kitty, Snow.

double date

Paul and I went out with Amy and Andy to Street Burger, one of our favorites. Paul ordered dessert first, as usual, and Amy bought me some bracelets, and we laughed and talked and felt bad for ourselves that we would be moving away from each other. We love them so much, they are so fun.

slip and slide

Our friends made a HUGE slip and slide in their yard using a large tarp they bought at Home Depot.  We soaped up the kids and sent them down. She must have had a million dollar water bill that month. It was so much fun though, even the moms went a couple times. The little bumps along the way were pretty unforgiving and we all had bruises the next day, but it was fun. This was a few weeks after the school year had ended and several of the Harmony families showed up, so it was really fun for the kids to run and play with their friends.

Watching a bug crawling on the side of the pool. I love these lazy days.

Pokemon play date with Austen, one of Hawken's friends.

Last day of Cub-scouts before they took a break for the summer. They buried a time capsule. This scout program was the best program, ever. The leaders took SO much time and effort to set up a great experience for the kids.

Solace's last day of school was a "water day" and he was THRILLED to wear his trunks to class. Mrs. Tejada was the best thing that ever happened to Solace, and Ms. Julie, his speech path. They were so wonderful and made Solace's school experience a very positive one.

Eating lunch on the lanai is always a treat for the kids.

I loved this little cartoon and took a screenshot so I could remember. This is one of the reasons I love homeschooling the kids. I get to let them learn to their strengths, and not necessarily in the same way as the others.
