random pics

We skipped school one morning and pushed it off to the afternoon when a sunny day came along after two in a row of rain. While we were there we ran into some friends, they had the same idea as we did. So fun!

Hawken can control his eyes and make only one go crossed at a time. It's impressive and silly looking at the same time.

Sully and Malachi walking home from school, hand in hand. So sweet. Sully calls him "little brother".

Matix got a little wet at paddling. When I came to get him he was soaked! This was the day they learned to tip over their canoe, and correct it in the water with no adult help.

We love to go to the Humane Society. They have a program where you can take their dogs on a "field trip".  We also like to just go and hold the puppies. I like this activity as much as the kids do. Can you tell that I missed having a dog?

Every night Paul and I hang out together, talk, make plans, watch a movie, or something after the kids are in bed. BUT, he almost always ends up falling asleep, even mid-conversation.

One of Paul's sunrise pictures. He rides his bike to the ocean and along the bike path. He watches the sunrise and does yoga to start his day. Not a bad way to start your morning!

New hair color. I died it dark orange-red though in the sun it looked more orange. But I didn't strip my roots, so it didn't last as long as usual.

flower crown

This girl is a fan of the flower crown. No matter what her mood, a flower crown (or a grass crown in this case), turns it around. She's so beautiful.

I'm trying really hard to catch up on this blog and unpack here at our new house, and it's not really working so far... Anyway, some day I'll get there, right?! Here are the world's two most spoiled guinea pigs. They get fresh fruit and veggies several times a day.

More paddling pictures. Matix with a paddle and the other kids playing in the river with their friends while they wait through practice.

Homeschool triumph. Hawken finally figured out time telling and was so pleased with himself!

A little ballet barre for Hawken, Lullaby and Jonny during a play date.

Drawing that Lullaby made of the two of us. Pretty fancy!

Easter

Easter morning started early, as usual. The kids were way too excited about the egg hunt. First we hid their baskets for them to find in the house, which was trickier than usual because we were also redoing the bathrooms, so there were lots of boxes and things out of place.

We went outside and hid the eggs from Debbie.  Our new neighbors have a little boy who also hunted with the kids for these paper eggs. It was fun! Plus Debbie and Victor got the kids some treats and a big stuffed bunny. So sweet.

Paul got his hair done by Lullaby and we headed over to the Hunt's house for Easter dinner.  It was really good! Then Paul and I snuck away with Hannah and Becca to hide the plastic eggs in the pool. That was Amy's idea, she had learned from a stranger.

The eggs were already filled with money and gems, but some didn't sink, so the filling the pool was harder than expected.

Eventually they were all ready to go and Amy brought over our kids and Ethan and Jonny to go hunting. They had a BLAST hunting in the pool. Such a fun time! Happy Easter!

beach day

We went over to Salt Ponds for the day to enjoy their sunny skies when it was raining on our side.  We built towel forts, splashed in the water, made sand castles, hunted for seashells and played with friends. Another fun day.
