random pics

Matix and Emmy reconnected through MarcoPolo and love sending little video clips back and forth.  Matix was walking through the orchard showing Emmy the different fruit and nut trees. So fun!

Lego play date with the Andersons.

Another Lullaby drawing. She was experimenting with eyes.

The boys started digging a hole in the driveway, just for fun. They got pretty deep and found some big boulders and a McDonalds toy from the 70's.

Speech therapy changed to online only, and although Solace missed spending time with Ms. Cori in person, this was pretty fun.

I made an oatmeal bake one night and it was ready for breakfast in the morning. Everyone loved it.

Changed my hair again, but only the tips. I like how the brown fades to that pinky purple. The humidity in Hawaii makes my hair curly even with straightener. Oh well.

The book nook ladder is finished and painted while and makes for a great little nook to hide out in while reading. I love it.

The kids' friend Eva, was in a movie and we watched it and found her in it! She was just an extra, but there were tons of tight shots, zoomed in on her face. We jumped up from our couch each time we saw her. So cool.

In a group text with Paul and Erik means sometimes you get to your phone and have 29 missed messages from them going back and forth with their cheesy dad jokes.

only open beach

In the middle of March, thing started going crazy with the Corona Virus. The beached began closing, and at this point is when only the county beaches were closed, but local beaches were open. This one was on the Kona side and we headed there, and after a quick hike we had that local beach all to ourselves, with the exception of one small family at the other end of the beach. The tide pools were FULL of creatures. We spent the day hunting and playing in the shallows. Paul and Lullaby went out snorkeling for a bit, then we ate a picnic lunch and headed home.

black sand beach

We went to where the green mountain used to be, before the lava took it, and hiked over the new sharp lava to get to the old path down to the water. Now there's a beach there, with lovely peridots in the small gravely sand.

After the long bike ride, then we walked the rest of the way

Can you see the green peridots? So cool!

Then the long ride back to the lava, up and over, and back to the car. We love to adventure.
