YMCA

As it turns out, there was a YMCA in Lihue, that Paul and Andy bought two week passes to when Amy and I were on Oahu. On one of the last days of the passes, we all went over there, even though it was on and off raining the whole time. The kids had a blast.

Enough rings to cover BOTH arms!

There was a high dive and a low dive, and the kids were all very brave in trying it.

last day

Liesl didn't stay as long on this trip, and when she left everyone was sad. We spent her last day in Kauai on the beach and eating shave ice. We were lucky to see a monk seal and turtles.

Then to Hee Fat for shave ice, best in Kauai.

Paul said goodbye before he left for work that morning, and Solace said goodbye before going to school, but the rest of us drove her to the airport. It was sad to see her go again, and right away the kids asked when she was going to come back. Liesl was, as usual, a lovely guest. She is so easy-going and ready for any adventure. We love you Liesl!

friends

Our favorite double daters. We found out the Hunt family were going to move back to Utah and we were really bummed about it. Our whole family was friends with their whole family. It was really hard knowing they weren't coming with us on our next adventure. So we celebrated as much as we could before then.

random pics

Left over cookies as the treat after lunch, makes for a picture perfect table.

Drawings by Lullaby of her favorite person in the world (besides Paul).

Swimming in the pool, Paul throwing Hawken high into the air, Hawk's favorite.

Solace had dress-up day, and crazy hair day at school. He got really into it.

Maker space fun for all. These dang perler beads are so fun and so frustrating at the same time.

Some of Paul's patients bring him fruit from their farms and gardens. It's awesome. These are rambutans, yum!

hidden beach

We were invited to go to a hidden beach in a friend's neighborhood in Princeville. The path was very well hidden, and I'm sure very few people know about it, other than those who live there.

Lullaby played with Missy, and the big boys played with Hawk and Matix. Solace chased around with Liesl and the dog, and I got to chat a bit with Michelle. It was an awesome day.

sleeping giant

We brought Liesl up to the top of Sleeping Giant.  I love how much each area looks so different from the next.

Swishy came too, and impressed us with his rock climbing abilities.  He's such a great dog. Liesl, however, barely made it. The kids cheered her on and she did it.

Lullaby wasn't really tired, but she wants to do everything that Liesl does, so she posed with her for this picture, of course.

The view from the lookout never disappoints. So beautiful.

Liesl ate a sour guava, and it was very sour.

Swishy posed for me from his spot in the shade.

Liesl, Paul, Hawken, and Lullaby headed up to the tippy top while I waited at the lookout with Matix, Solace and Swishy. Here are pics from the top.

Then back to the lookout for some group pics before going back down.
