Out to eat at a Greek restaurant and we all ate the most beautiful food.
Paul went to Arizona to see his dad before the trial. It was a hard trip for him, and I wanted to surprise him when he got home with something to make him happy. I only had 30 hours, so I cleared out his work stuff from this nook where he keeps his desk. I looked up what colors are good for focus, clarity, and calm, and came up with my pallet. I scribbled some ideas out on the gray wall with pen, then went to work! Some colors required multiple layers, so I worked as fast as I could. After I was done painting, I went through and outlined the shapes. I love how it turned out. Better yet, Paul loved it.
You can take the boy out of Hawaii, but you'll never take Hawaii out of the boy. The transition back to Utah weather was shocking after our long Kauai trip.
The kids only use the pool table/ping pong table for their display and Lego building areas.
Dale, Vanessa and their kids all came for a visit. They tried riding the dirt bikes, but they still need more practice to really be able to have fun.
We opened a Universal Yums box with them and it was fun to see all the different reactions to the new flavors and treats. Plus more time on the dirt bikes and some board games.
We went to see Baylee dance with her drill team and tried to cheer the loudest. It's so fun to see all her hard work pay off.
Hawken chose to do an art class for an elective, and has really had fun finding new styles of art, and trying it for himself. Hawken is a rule boy, and being creative is hard for him at first, but he's really opening up to the idea of it, and I love seeing what he comes up with.
Our Kauai trip was enlightening and we decided Utah wasn't it for us anymore. So although we didn't put our house on the market right then, we did start to prep it for being listed. The sunshine front door was happy for us, but something that needed to go before it could be sold.
Date day with Hawken. I love taking the kids out one on one to chat and get to know them better and have fun alone time with just us.
Out with the Harmers to see The 355. It was better than any of us guessed, but the company was the best part. Paul brought hummus to dip his popcorn into. It actually tasted pretty good. Weird.
On March 5th, we watched musicals, and told Grandpa Chuck stories. It was still a sad day for me, and surreal that it had been a year since he died.
We picked up some acorns from the trees near Yosemite, and brought them back to Utah to plant and see if they would grow. They all did!
I met up with Steph and we were wearing different versions of the same shirt. So funny. She and I are so similar.
It snowed in March and stuck to the ground for a few days even. The weather in Utah can be so strange.
I went with Della to her Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP) meeting and Jennifer Reeder, an author and historian was the guest speaker. She was fascinating to listen to. Then lunch and some pictures of Grandma Berg with her friends.
Out to lunch with Charmaine and Heidi.
Solace lost ANOTHER tooth. It is amazing that he still has enough in his mouth to eat anything harder than apple sauce.
Ashley and Ranger had a baby shower delivered by suitcase that Claudia organized and we were happy to contribute. I had been collecting things for them for a long time.
Out with homeschool friends at a park.
Sleeping kitties in various places and positions.
Hawken's church group learned about bike ramps, did some research and then planned their own, and built them. This was the planning stage in different groups.
Time for some new hair! Here are the before, during and after pics!
The first somewhat warm day, the kids were out selling lemonade in the neighborhood.
Sunday dinner and games with Great Grandma Berg.
We went to Porky's in UTAH, weird! They're based in Kauai, but we found them in Utah too! Just as delicious.
Paul's chosen outfits for yard work are always entertaining. He's wearing bike shorts, with a padded butt, work boots, unlaced, and a shirt covered in images of his own face from Jolie at Christmastime. Ha haha. We planted three little apple trees, and wild flowers.
Paul working, and me waiting for him to be done with a meeting so I can bug him.
Lunch with Heidi is always a good idea.
Hawken and Jonny were hanging out at the school one weekend and when I went to pick Hawk up, they were perched on this hill flying kites. It made for a lovely picture of these two besties.
