Auntie Jolie drove all the way from Colorado to join us for trick-or-treating. She got there the day before and the kids went right away to the outdoor (heated) pool. Because of the snow earlier in the day, we weren't sure we'd be able to make it down the mountain to trick-or-treat, but it melted on the streets. So she was able to get to us, and we were all able to go down to trick-or-treat the next day.
Those crazy kids had a snowball fight IN the pool, and after a little while, some more cousins came to play too, and an uncle. So fun!
Before leaving to trick-or-treat, Great Grandma Berg gave each of the kids (including Jolie's kids and all the adults) a full-sized candy bar. Yes please.
We got to the Hunts house, changed into costumes, and helped Amy make a witches brew.
The Dortch family came and Solace was finally reunited with his best friend Shar. He loves her.
Then we headed down to the cul-de-sac in the Hunt's neighborhood and ate dinner while we waited for Andy to come home from work, and for Jolie to meet us there.
The trick-or-treating began just before the sunset, and it was COLD. Matix, Hawken and Solace were ninjas, and Lullaby was a witch. We went slower than usual at first because the kids kept stopping to pick up pretty leaves. We stayed out for a few hours, although Solace went back with Amy after just a few houses. Jonny, Lanna, Lullaby, Matix, Alexandra, and Hawken all went through a haunted house with Paul before calling it quits and heading home to sort and trade candy.
Jolie and her kids left for their long drive back home. It was so fun to have them there for that tiny bit. The kids, especially, loved having their cousins to play with.
We stayed up way too late again with the Hunts. This is what the boys were busy doing... All the dads hitting ping pong balls at Ethan. Weirdos. The littler boys were all playing video games, the moms were all chatting and the little girls were all eating candy.
