photos

I have been asked a few times to take pictures for people lately, and I've been loving it. My neighbor Sofia is pregnant with her first baby, and I was so happy I could help her capture this special time in her life. I brought these over for her on her shower day (we couldn't stay because of other engagements) and she loved sharing them with everyone at the party. Out of the hundreds of pictures, 44 were print worthy.

Here are some more of my favorites from her shoot.

The Newells asked me too. I said yes, not knowing that they were going to be on their Christmas cards. I don't really know what I'm doing, but luckily they are all super photogenic and took some really lovely pictures.

baby blessing

Baby Saras was blessed up in Dale and Vanessa's ward 2 weeks ago and Colleen asked that I take a few pictures of the baby in her dress. These pictures here don't show off the adorable dress very well, but they are my favorites and show off her cute personality better. :)

basketball

The boys who live in the houses across the street are the sweetest little boys ever. Solace is a ball lover, and when he saw them playing basketball outside, he couldn't help but toddle over there and try to play himself. Of course, he is too short to make a shot, but he would look up, and line up the ball and try his hardest. Then the boys would catch his half way tossed up ball and make the basket for him. He loved it.

reflection

Solace LOVES to see his own reflection. It's a favorite pastime. Too much fun. He smiles, that baby in the mirror smiles. He screams, and seemingly, so does that baby. He also loves to brush his teeth with our toothbrush. He sits in one of our sinks in our bathroom and really enjoys himself. Such a cute baby.

you should see my heart

This is my kind of crazy, and I love it. I get told a lot, "You have your hands full!", yes, obviously, I do. I did that on purpose, and I have zero regrets about my favorite little people.

best buds

Hawken's friend Logan lives in our same neighborhood, but they don't get to play very much (outside of preschool) with all our complicated schedules. It's sooo nice though, on the days the stars align and they get to spend some quality time together. They are so cute.

baby dolls

Lullaby's absolutely favorite thing to do, in the whole world, is to play with her baby dolls. She asks me at least three times each day to play with her. She is going to be SO excited next year when her friend Abby (another doll lover) joins preschool!

sight words

Matix finished all his kindergarten sight words! He is now on to 1st grade words, which he is very proud of. Each ice cream scoop coordinated with a set of 10 or more sight words, and each time he mastered a set, he could color a scoop. He was BEYOND excited to bring this home and show us how hard he had been working. Hooray for you Matix man!

sleepy

After school, Matix is SO tired. He still naps on weekends, and it's hard for him to get through a day without one. We went to the library after school and there was a movie playing and Matix started falling asleep while watching it. Poor thing.

Children's Museum

These boys like to practice their letters in Korean at the Children's Museum. Their displays are always so fun and inviting for the kids.

Story time is still a weekly favorite. We cannot go without it. See anything funny in these last two pictures?
That's a little one year old that we don't know, who follows Matix around every week we see her. She sat in his lap and he held her during story time this week, it was adorable. He's such a sweet boy.

perfect timing

During Family Home Evening, I was reading from the scriptures to the kids and Sakina was acting all silly and running in circles. Then she flipped Lullaby's shirt (which was laying on the floor) up onto my head. Just like that. Everyone started laughing. I don't know if it was good aim or just perfect timing, but it was super funny. Paul was there and got a picture. Silly Kina, we love you.

paintings

We watched an online art class in preschool a couple weeks ago and the kids created these amazing masterpieces! I love them! Totally on their own too.

love note

Matix got another love note from Sara… Adorable. Here's the front, inside and back of the card. It says,  "To Matix, Matix you are a good friend. I love you, Sara"

disappointment

Paul spotted a very talllllll building, which happened to be a bank, and told the kids we should ride the elevator to the top. They were very excited. Here are some pics from the outside.
We went in and an overly serious guard lady said no one could ride any of the elevators… ? Huh. But then she said there was some art in the lobby we could look at. So we went to see the art and take a disappointed picture, only to have her stop us again and say no photography. Of course. She was probably the grouchiest person I have encountered in a long time. The kids all (even Sully) burst into tears and we brought them back out to the car. It was a total bust of what could have been a great adventure. Oh well.

sensory table

Thanks Auntie Laurel for our new sensory table! It gets a LOT of use! :) We love it.

100th day of school!

Matix's 100th day of school is today, which he is VERY excited about. They are doing lots of fun activities and the project with 100 somethings was a group effort. Matix decided he wanted to make a monster with 100 eyes, so we counted then out and pushed them all on together. The other kids were so happy they could help. It turned out great. We did the project a few days ago when we got the paper announcing this day was coming and then we had to wait, which is always the hardest part. I can't wait to hear how his day is!
