goodbyes

The Newells, Loumeaus, Francis', and us all got together one last time for a fun BBQ, and goodbye, and birthday party for Mindy. It was fun, but sad saying goodbye.

The Newells brought their HUGE moving truck. They left that night. So sad so see them go.

full

Lunch with the Flores girls makes for a FULL table. But who doesn't love having a room full of cute kids?! It's at least always entertaining. :)

Newells

While they were packing, we got to steal Logan and Summer away for a quick play date. The boys made a million paper airplanes, and the girls played tea party.

helping Dale

Dale and Vanessa decided to finish the rest of their house. They had 2 rooms left that were only studded and piped. Paul and Dale worked the first day putting up sheet rock. It was TIRING work. I mostly watched the kids the first day.

We took everyone to Chipotle for lunch. I always love an excuse to eat out.

Day 2 working included me, and we worked until midnight. It was EXHAUSTING. We worked by the light of 1 lamp, and were all pooped the next day.

I watched the kids more, and Paul worked alone, while Dale and Vanessa went to Linnaea and Gavin's swim meet. After a few hours, we went over there for a "break" and cheered on Gavin (Linnaea refused to swim). It was very excited seeing your cousin swim!

Another day we went up to work and it was just us working. Then later, once Dale and Vanessa were back from everything we went to their neighborhood pool and played. It was really fun (the playing part - not the working part, I never want to drywall anything ever again in my life).

skatepark

We went to the skatepark in Spring one last time before moving too. The kids love the skate part, and the playground part. So much fun.

Giving Daddy a good luck hug before I took the littles to the playground, and the BIG boys had fun skating.

pool

We had to go swimming a few more times at the YMCA before we moved. The kids got really good at swimming this summer! (And Lullaby was there too, but no pictures for some reason...?)

smart kids

Lullaby can do HUGE puzzles. Right-side up and Up-side down. It's impressive.

Matix is an overachiever when it comes to art work. His teacher explained to me that she was looking for a stick drawing of a fish, maybe seaweed. This was Matix's picture. :)

friend party

Logan had his birthday party early this year so he could celebrate it with his friends before they moved. We were so glad he did, so we could celebrate with him! It was a Star Wars themed party and so much fun! The kids had a blast even though it was a million degrees that day.

These boys miss Logan already, but they're off to their new adventure, and we're off to ours. So goes life. :)

The boys got to ride their bikes home with their light sabers tucked into their shirts. So funny.

Children's Museum

Our last few times at the Houston Children's Museum were bitter sweet. We LOVE that place and have spent so many hours there. The kids said goodbye to their favorite employees and the storyteller at story time. Houston had SO much to do all the time. Our book collection has grown immensely since we started getting their free books on Thursdays. We miss you Houston!

Houston goodbyes

The big boys wanted to have a Pokemon trading party after school was over so they could say good bye to some of their best friends. I had a house full of little boys, and at the very end of the "party", the Flores girls joined us all for a pizza lunch. It was a fun day and a nice way to say good bye.

roommates

In June, the Flores family moved in. Their lease had ended and we were done with preschool and selling the house so it worked out well for everyone. We didn't get to enjoy very much of each other since we were all packing and moving and everything like that. It was crazy and chaotic most of the time actually. But the kids LOVED it. There were many days spent making forts, and doing art projects and playing together. They really love each other and amidst the mess, we all had fun.

Hawken's invention

Hawken is very excited about Pokemon right now. They have been ALL the rage this past school year. But, he had a problem. He was sick and tired of spending MONEY on Pokemon cards. So he decided to sketch out the invention that he plans on creating to solve that problem. What else would he be doing at 6:30am on a Saturday??
