Solace loves to be creative and comes up with new games and things to do all the time. This is an adventure maze. He draws the maze, and the bad guys in the maze, and your powers or weapons, and the prize if you finish the maze. Then he helps you find the path. So funny. We do this lots.

Even though Halloween is over, I still love the scares. I got Paul to watch a spooky jump-scare video, and recorded it. So funny.
In November of 2020, Lullaby decided to get her ears pierced. I waited to let her until she could make her own informed decision. She was excited and super nervous. She picked blue sapphire studs to start.
There were tears for about 5 minutes, then she happily picked out some new pairs of earrings and we went home. She was stoked!
Paul built these shelves to help us organize storage stuff outside in the garage. They have been really helpful!
Matix and some other boys in the neighborhood made teams, and they went back and forth giving each other treats, and leaving messages. So fun. Here was a plate of cookies left for Matix and his team. Then we made some cookies to bring to their team.
Sunday game night with Great Grandma Berg is always fun. Sometimes it's dinner, or a game, or watching a movie, or all of the above, and the company is always great.
Ethan bought a VR headset and brought it over for us to try out. So fun. It started in the living room, and ended in the theater room because we all needed the extra space.
Lullaby's hair this time in a crown braid. She looks so pretty this way I think. Plus then she could show off her new earrings!

Paul rented this giant machine from his cousin Ben to work on building more jumps for the kids and their mountain bikes. Such a good dad.
Swish went to the vet to get a part of his bad toe removed. His nail grew in split open and nerve exposed, so he was almost always limping. Poor thing.
He was really mad at me when I picked him up and brought him home. He had to wear a boot for a week and would whine like crazy if I walked away from him. He healed up fast though and was jumping around in no time!
The kids love it when their dad gets involved in their play, it always gets wild fast. Thanks to the cold weather, this game turned into an all day activity.

Paul turned 38! Paul is the easiest person to celebrate. He is so amazing. Full of life and light and joy, all the time. Paul is as hardworking and hard playing, as ever. He's a bike commuter by choice, even in the winter. He loves being outside, and active. He loves trying new things and adventuring. He's always the life of the party. We're so happy he's ours.
Hawken made him waffles, which is Hawk's idea of a perfect gift.

Thanksgiving was awesome. We ate everything and THEN thought to get a picture. I'm very grateful for my family and the happiness they each bring me every day. So here is our only two Thanksgiving pictures. Ha ha ha. One with empty plates, and one of pie.
Catching up with Big Island friends. Hawk's friend Dayo loved using the filters on their call, and was making Hawken laugh so hard, I thought he might pee his pants.
At the mechanic, and this man removed his mask, faced towards me, and sneezed. I thought he wanted to talk to me, so I faced him just before he sneezed at me. I get it, sneezing in a mask feels gross, but sneezing on a stranger is not the solution. So weird.
I had an idea to make Edward Scissorhands cookies, and I LOVE how they turned out! It's one of my favorite movies, and making the little 3D bushes was really fun and challenging.
Hawk helped make some of the treats for his birthday party. He also got a birthday party a few days BEFORE his actual birthday date, which he loved, because he does not like waiting...
This little 11 year old wore his dad's hotdog costume all day too. So silly, and so much like Paul in that way.
He had lots of friends come over and spoil him on that day. They ate good food, watched a movie, opened presents, played games, sang to Hawk, and finally went home.
Hawken at 11 is thoughtful, kind, happy, and likes to follow the rules. He likes to be the life of the party and make people happy. He loves to cook and bake and make breakfast of waffles. He is genuinely good and helps everyone around him to make better choices. He loves to play, and be active, but doesn't love to read or sit still much. He is a planner and a question asker. He loves adventure and being outside. He likes to make other people happy. Hawk is an easy person to love and be around. We love you Hawky! Happy Birthday!
After his party day, the presents kept rolling in, and Hawk got presents from more grandparents. Thank you to everyone who thought of our sweet boy. You helped make him feel so special.
