At the beginning of July, we had a yard sale to get rid of the things we wouldn't need in Kauai. We had accumulated lots of things, toys especially, that we wouldn't want to take with. Our neighborhood was heavily military, and when they PCS, they often leave tons of things behind. There is a "curb alert" nearly everyday, so we went free toy shopping all the time. It was awesome. And so we then turns around and sold lots of it. Win win!  Matix sat outside wth me, reading to me, and trying his best to stay entertained. He loves these Dogman books. They're written like comics, and so silly.

Lullaby wanted a picture of her outfit, and later, her hair. She said this was her "best dressed day yet"... 

pool day

The kids' friends, Nellie and Trisha, got to come to the pool to play with us a few times. They are little fish, and had a great time. We miss their family already. 

Sunday afternoon

We took the kids over to the tennis courts to ride their skateboards, since no one ever uses the courts. It was the perfect place to play on a Sunday afternoon.

Lull wanted her hair tied into knots by the end, because her neck was too hot (note -the long sleeved shirt she's wearing did NOT make her hot). And she needed a picture to make sure I did it right. I did.

church

I very rarely get pictures of me with the kids. But one church day, all the kids were with me and I asked a friend to get a picture of us. I love these babies of mine. 

beach day

Another beach day at White Plains. Hawken went out with Paul first, on the new board and did great! Solace was simultaneously trying to drown himself, so I didn't get a picture or video of Hawk, but he's doing really well! 

Paul took Matix out second, and I was able to catch a video of them surfing one wave after another. I love this video.

After a long day on the beach, naps are easy!

orange hair

Bored of the purple again, so I stripped it and dyed it orange with some pink and purple underneath. Yes please. All the purple didn't come out, but the orange was bright enough to cover it.

packing

Packing this time took quite a bit longer, and I did it by myself, since Paul worked right up until the day before we moved. Solace was my "helper" most of the time, although I am pretty sure he slowed me down a bit... He had fun, and it all got finished.

cute

Sully loves to practice writing letters. It's pretty cute.

chores

Paul and I don't have a set list of chores for each individual kid to do each day, or week, but they do help each day with the things we ask them to do. Sometimes, I make them lists, and they work together to get it done. This particular day, I got a note and pictures back on the list, when they had finished it. So cute.

While packing, the kids had fewer and fewer toys left out. Paper and things to draw with, HAD to be left out for them. Lullaby drew a picture of her with her daddy, and I think it's especially cute. She's been working on her hearts too.

I guess my tiniest little stinker thought he was ready to be done with time out. He's lucky he's cute.

to the movies

I have lots of fond memories of going to the movies as a child. It was always a fun time. And now, Paul and I love to take the kids to see movies. So much fun. We saw Cars 3, and it was pretty cute. Solace loved it the best.

childhood

The splash pad near our house was the best thing ever. We loved it there. Such a fun childhood.

pool day

Sully is getting really good at holding his breath! With goggles, he can now hold his breath and get things off the floor of the keiki pool. We are so impressed. He loves the water.

We also got to see a beautiful double rainbow. Can't beat the rainbows here. 

splash pad

The kids LOVE playing at the splash pad. We already miss it.

beach day

Banyan Tree Beach has some of the best snorkeling on Oahu. We really love it there. It's a bit of a walk, but well worth it.

On our way out, we saw a large mango tree, that was thick with mangos, but only near the top of the tree. We were starving and decided to try and get some. The only way we could was by throwing sticks. It worked!
