Hippie Party in Poipu

We headed down to Poipu with some new friends in early December for a beach party like no other. There was SO much to see and do. To name a few things, there was a clown making balloon animals, several massage therapists (and their kids who tried it too) and their tables set up, hammocks in the trees, seals on the beach, and kites to fly. Our favorite part was just before sunset, as the kids' Hawaiian Studies teacher showed up with some friends and his drums, and put on an amazing show. It was so much fun to watch. We all had a great time.

This picture was super blurry, but it's the only one I have of Uncle Phil and Hawken. The kids are so lucky to have him as their teacher. He is incredibly knowledgable.

Birthday Boy and Thanksgiving

Paul's birthday fell ON Thanksgiving this year, and so we celebrated for a couple extra days. The night before, we went to watch Coco. Then we opened presents the day of. He got spoiled with lots of gardening gifts (just what he wanted this year), and lots of love notes. Paul is such an easy person to celebrate. We love him and his happy-go-lucky attitude. Happy birthday Paul!

Then we went to the Hunt's house to have a big feast together. It was so much fun. Plus, the missionaries came, which always makes for interesting stories. We had a wonderful day, both celebrating our favorite guy ~ Paul, and being grateful of our many blessings. We are so grateful for every day.

school stuff

Sully made lots of cute Thanksgiving things at preschool. He was really excited to show us them all. I'm so glad he loves school so much.

Sleeping Giant Hike

We went for a hike up to the top of the Sleeping Giant (Nounou Mountain). It was SO lovely. We walked through many different areas on the way up. Big pine tree forests, flowers and rocks, strawberry guava fields, and then up to the top.

Then Hunt family went with us, and after spending a few minutes at the top, we had to run down to get to Solace's school on time, and we made it within minutes!

sunrise

Every morning Paul rides his bike for exercise. Usually, it's before the sun, or the kids, are up. BUT, sometimes a kid wakes up and he takes them with him. The sunrise he and Lullaby saw was too pretty not to share...

Then they rode their bikes to the library beach where some swings are tied in the trees, right over the river that leads to the ocean. Such a pretty place to be.  This girl loves to have some special time with her favorite guy.

Matix

Who is this grown up NINE year old?? Matix is such a fun kid right now. He is really excited about learning everything from his Hawaiian Studies teacher, Uncle Phil. In April, Phil is planning a huge Imu, and Matix will get to really light his fire knife on FIRE. Right now we're still just practicing with this one. I'm so glad he gets to have these experiences!

Legos

Hawky's Lego sets are often surfers, or free divers... I think he really idolizes Paul. It's sweet to see that, even in his play.  I hope he grows up to be just like him.

art class

These canvas silhouette paintings turned out SO well for the kids in my art class. It was a really fun one to watch as they created. They all really loved it.

Tutu and Sharkie

Just a girl and her piggies, hanging out, having a chat. Sweet.  These are the nicest guinea pigs ever.

school pictures and hair cut

After getting his school pictures back, as darling as the picture is, I decided it was time for a hair cut. I love Sully's hair long, and will never cut it SHORT again, unless he begs for it, but I will cut it to tame it. Here is his adorable school picture.

This is me trying to get a decent "before" picture... Nice mustache.

"Before"

"After"  He was pretty excited about the new look and wouldn't hold still. But you'll see in the pictures here on out how much better it looks. Still long, curly, and wild, but not in his eyes.
