the yard

Paul's been working his butt of on the yard. As it turns out, there is always work to do when you have a big yard... Thankfully, he's up to the task. 

For a while, the only way to cut down the albizia trees here (an invasive species that shades out everything below it) was with his little saw...

After a while, he got a chainsaw again, and was happily surprised to see how fast the work went with it. He has cleared SO much!

The boys are always there to cheer him on.

Here is a sped up version of him clearing a cluster of albizia in the yard. Pretty cool looking all sped up! 

Here's some of the blossoms in the orchard, such a beautiful sight! Pink and purple blossoms on one of our lemon trees.

All these tiny spots are baby avocados. I can almost taste them already! So exciting!

cookies

I made cookies for Maya for her birthday, since she loves them so much. Her favorite colors are turquoise, purple and red. 

I decided to make cookies for the movie night our church ward did. I don't have a popcorn shaped cutter, so I had to free hand them with other parts of cutters I have. I think they turned out cute.

Then I made some extras with the left over icing from Maya's cookies. These were given to all the Sunday school teachers for the kids at church. I appreciate them so much.

Buster the chameleon

Lullaby found a chameleon in the forest at one of our homeschool groups, named him Buster and brought him home to release him. We're try to start a small population of chameleons here in our yard. So fun. 

Also at the park that day, we celebrated Maya, Makani, and Magnus' birthdays. Happy birthday!

The kids take fort building to new levels in our yard. These traveling palms make for great water proof walls on their forts. 

Easter 2019

Paul made these darling bunny pancakes for the kids on Easter morning.  The idea was from Paul's cousin Taun. He makes these every year for his kids too. 

We went to church first and the kids left with tons of goodies, as is to be expected.

After lunch, we got to our Easter egg hunt. The kids hunted for their baskets first, and then in the orchard for the eggs. We filled the eggs with money this year, so nothing got sticky or melted. The kids had a great time. Then we opened Easter cards and gifts from the grandparents. Thank you!

Lullaby picked out her own Easter dress and so I had to get a few extra pictures of her in the garden with it. So cute.
