Andy got some more wonderful drone shots. This one was from Tunnels. Wow!
More regular pictures from Tunnels. We stayed and snorkeled and played until the sunset. So much fun.
Hanalei pier makes for some lovely pictures.
Kealia boogie board and then Matcha-Ya for some shave ice.
Baby Mousey is always so sleepy. She loves being help like a baby for her naps.
Lullaby's time at Girl's Camp was so fun for her. This was the first time we let her fly without us, and sleepover night with anyone without us. It was a wild test of faith for us. Everything worked out. They tie-dyed, went for hikes, sang songs, ate out and had a great time.
We sent Lullaby with the kid phone so we could track her and talk to her and make sure she felt safe. She sent us all these pictures and more of what she was up to everyday. I love it.
Ethan beat me in cards for the first time and so we had to take a picture to commemorate it.
Working on a Lego set and Mousy decided to help.
Made us laugh. This is particularly true of our kids.
Sleeping baby kittens are the cutest.
The end of the year party for our homeschool group, Curiosity Kids, was at Rebecca's house. Lullaby left a day before, for Girl's Camp, so she didn't do the hula. She was bummed to have missed it. Amy tagged along too, since we all knew each other when we lived here last time. The slip-and-slide was fun as ever.
Silly Sully boy at church.
Beach boogie day. Always a hit.
We spent the day at Kalihwai and it was so much fun. We strung up the hammocks, hunted for sea beans, braided ropes from wild grasses and bound together barrels to make a raft.
I love that we have the snuggliest pets. Swishy is a little jealous of the new kitten.
I love that shoes are not necessary, even inside grocery stores here. It makes for such a wild childhood.
Doughnuts for breakfast. Yes please.
We jumped the first falls, then hiked to the second falls at Ho'opi'i and although it was super muddy, it was worth it!
We have this little etch-a-sketch thing in the bathroom and there is always a new design on it.
We ran into Uncle Phil at the Art Walk in Kapaa town, and set up a day soon after to go to his coconut farm and spin fire. He was the Hawaiian Studies for our kids and the Hunt kids when we lived here the first time. Lullaby held a parrot, and then when we got back to our car, we spotted a cat on top.
The bananas in the jungle near our house started turning, so Ethan went to cut them down for us. Once they starting turning yellow, the chickens fly up and start eating them.
We did the Sleeping Giant hike and made it to the top for some epic views and drone shots by Andy.
Lots of game playing with the Hunt family here. Plus, do you see cute Baby Kitty (Mousey) in the little lid of the box?
Down to the South Side to Brenneke's and Poipu Beaches for a sunny hot beach day. Then we took a break in the shade for some snacks and got the beach birds to eat from our hands.
Out for Filipino treats. So pretty, but not my favorite tastes and textures.
Jonny got a sunburn while his hair was down, and his forehead stayed white.
I beat Amy at cards, and got my picture taken. She's super fast, so I was excited than I could win!
Uncle Phil invited us over to his coconut farm. We pulled down weeds, he taught us some traditions, we brought dinner for us all to share, and then we spun fire together. We are so thankful for our friendship with him.
After eating at Bubba's, we had a little beach time before the Hunts had to go home. We had the best time with them and we were all sad to see them go.
Nice church picture from Auntie Stella.
Matix and Lullaby wanted a day at the beach. Matix went out deep, while Lullaby made friends with a girl on vacation and taught her to ride in the small waves.
Hawken got a 3D printer! He had asked for it for a year, and we used some of the leftover funds from homeschooling to buy it. Ethan was here and helped him, set it all up.
Date with Sully to Starbucks for cake pops and Bubbah's for Pokemon, then to a furniture store, just for fun.
I was asked to make some baby shower cookies and I loved how the little footprints turned out. So cute. the cookies were 1 1/2 inches wide, so you can tell how tiny the little footprints are.
Beach evening, spent mostly hunting for sea beans and then Paul helped this woman who was overdosing on something at the beach. We stayed with her until the EMT's showed up. I'm so glad Paul's a doctor.
At church and Colleen was teaching Matix something on the piano.
New hairstyle. She didn't have a hair tie, so this is what we could get.
Paul and I went out on a date and saw several bands, but the highlight was Hirie. She had tons of stage presence and we loved it.
Snow Kitty continues to be our most expensive kitty. She decided to not poop for a week and got constipated... She's better now.
Our old neighbor in Dominica, Lexi, who was 10 when we were there, is now an adult and came for a quick visit with some friends. It was awesome seeing her. She's the best.
We redid this sweet picture of her and Matix from when she was 13 and he was 4, and they had visited us in Georgia. Cute.
Out to eat with the missionaries. It's always nice to hear what they have to say.
Cute baby Mousey.
Date with Hawk, juice and treats, shopping and Pokemon cards. He helped me pick out a new dresser. Perfect date for this guy. I love him.
Here's the new dresser we bought in my new bedroom. It's huge but looks small in the picture.
The back door of the house had some broken steps that couldn't be used, and after a while we decided to add a ramp because they would have been too steep for Swishy (in addition to being broken). Turns out he hated the ramp too. So we changed it again after this.
Lullaby did my hair.
Faint rainbow in the sky at the beach. So pretty.
Ethan had cut down the bananas while the Hunts were here and the last 30 of them turned brown in one day. I was worried but they were all still good on the inside. We ate as many as we could, then we made banana bread with the rest. Yum.
Beach day, and helicopters flew over the beach, which was unusual.
Uncle Phil invited us over again and after pulling down tons of vines, he cracked open a few coconuts and cooked us some coconut candy.
Father's Day was hard again for me, but celebrating Paul is the best. He is SO wonderful, as a person, as a partner, and as a father. We are so lucky. He got a few gifts and we played a game where he picked (unknowingly) between a few of his favorite things. We went on a hike, cliff jumping, out to eat, watched a movie and then to the beach for boogie boarding and sunset.
Solace started writing a song, and I loved the beginning especially. "I can be the one who stops the wars." Sweet boy.
