Going through old pictures of my dad's has become a fun hobby of all the sisters. I found this commencement program listing my dad as the class president and one of the speakers.
We decided to homeschool again and found lots of really fun groups to join. The sports group has by far been the favorite. Selena (my friend - now) organizes a sport, and teaches the kids how to play, then they play. Her kids are really into sports and they have all the right gear. Its basically a 4 hour long gym class once a week. They kids LOVE it. It was basketball our first week.
Another homeschool group we joined was a nature group. They meet kind of far from our house, so we don't attend nearly as often, but they love it when we do go.
Our Harmony supplies started arriving, which always feels like Christmas.
Great Grandma Berg invited us over to help her with her garden and orchard. Lots of trees were heavy with fruit. We spent a long time picking, and then feasted on fruit.
The Hunts invited us to one of Ethan's games. He did great, and we loved cheering for him!
Dog sitting for our neighbors. Early morning snuggles and play time for the pups.
We took the kids to see Rebelution, a band we like. Ryan, Megan and baby Cora came too. There was a little playground at the back of the grass area where the kids spent most of their time. It was a good show and everyone had fun and we were all wiped out when it finally ended and we headed home.
My friend Erin had this drawing made for me from a picture of the two of us. I think it's so fun! It's framed now on my wall. Top is the drawing, bottom is the picture she had the artist reference.
Just after bedtime, I had tucked in my kids and my friend Heidi called me for help. She found a tarantula in her yard and needed it gone. Matix to the rescue. I got him out of bed and told him to come help. He is now the resident tarantula catcher in the neighborhood. Everyone who needs help with their spider problems calls me to get Matix.
It was barely warm enough in September to swim, but these kids are water babies.
A stop at a bike shop turned long and we couldn't figure out why it was taking Paul so long, of course it was because he ran into a friend. He knows people everywhere.
Cracking into the new art supplies from Harmony. So fun.
New Sunday pin, and dinner and snuggles with Great Grandma Berg
Afternoon waffle party with friends. We love this neighborhood for the fun it brings our family.
One of the things we ordered for homeschool was a subscription to "Universal Yums". They send a box of treats and snacks from a different country each month. Everyone tries each thing. We cook some of the recipes they send and learn a bit about the culture. It's been really fun.
Solace started flag football and really loved it. He is very naturally talented at group sports. Catching was the hardest part for him. He made some friends right away and picked up on the rules of the game fast.
