Lullaby and her friend Talia were welcomed to the Young Women's program in the church. Each girl got to tell a bit about themselves, and get to know each other a little better. It was so nice.
Back to work on the house. We had to sand the glue from the floor in the laundry room which made a thick layer of dust, everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
Solace removed an old exterior door that had been boarded up. Paul added new doors for that exterior door, the door from the dining room to the laundry, and also from the laundry to the carport.
Beach break at Hanalei for some slow waves, and ice cream after.
Work hard and play hard means sometimes you're half asleep while brushing your teeth. Paul was working his regular Telehealth job, and his part time CMO job, and renovating with me. He's a rockstar.
The Prius didn't pass the safety check because the tinting was too dark. I had to get it professionally removed.
Back to Home Depot, our favorite place to spend money!
Working on the trim in the living room.
Beach break and I made a friend. This other family's dog came and followed me around and lay down next to me when I sat down. We were best friends for the evening.
Back home to build the kitchen table. We lived without a table for just over a month, and it was SO great to get one again.
Dreamsicle milk from Kauai Juice, yes please.
We got stuck while opening the boxes of books because we didn't have a place for more of them, so I had an idea and Paul brought it to life. At the end of the hall for the bedrooms, Paul put this up so fast!
Another week at Curiosity Kids! What a great group.
Near my old art room. So fun. I loved teaching way back then, and I love being in the same place now.
They needed a substitute for the youngest class, and asked me to teach. It was so much fun.
So much Pokemon trading happens each lunch time.
Hula class started and Lullaby loved it!
Back at church, and Hawken was set apart as a "Teacher" which is one step up from "Deacon", and one step before "Priest".
Sweet Snow Baby could care less about all the bowls of water we have out for her each day, she would rather drink from this spigot... Silly thing.
January started work on the roof. We are friends of friends, so our job was in between other jobs, and our rook took a long time to get on.
Changing the lighting for different lights or fans meant we had to do a lot of wiring in the attic. Hawken and Paul did the majority of that work.
Poor Swishy was exhausted, but wanted to sleep in this particular corner of the carport, so we moved his bed there and he was really happy. Not much of a guard dog.
Field trip to Grove Farms with Curiosity Kids to learn about the longest running sugar cane farm on Kauai. They had original buildings for us to explore, and we ended in the kitchen, where we got to eat cookies made from things they grew, and lemonade from the lemons and sugarcane on the property. So fun. Our tour guide was great, he had so mcc knowledge.
Paul built the frame for a garage door on the carport to keep all our things safe and out of the rain. We used the carport at that time for all the tools, and several boxes of our things that we hadn't put away yet. Scott Greenleaf came to help a bit too, then the garage door people came and got that added. Woohoo!
Auntie Stella sent over a bag full of musubi for the kids. Yum! We have the best friends here.
We removed the old vanity and sink from the bathroom and Paul had to do some plumbing before we could attach the new one.
Break for a dinner date. Dessert first, always.
Then one last thing before bed. And 3 of 4 pets were "helping".
Lullaby was invited to go on a play date with Talia and her cousin Leon. First skating, then to Fun Factory and then back to Auntie Stella's house for ice cream. She was out until 11pm. We had to call them for them to bring her home. They all had a blast.
Lego fun with Lullaby. She's so creative.
Mermaid parfait for breakfast after a run to the dump and then Home Depot to start another day of work.
We went bowling with the Young Men and Young Women. Sully isn't really part of that group, but he got to tag along. Hawken got strike after strike. He's good at everything.
Another light fixture changed for a ceiling fan. Yes please.
Waiting at the car mechanic to try to pass the safety inspection again. We passed.
Skate park fun with everyone.
Boogie boarding at the beach. Fun!
Parked at church and I backed into the "space", although backing in with no lines makes it look better than it is. The kids sent pictures to Pops to show that I can "park like a pro" too.
Here is a video of the renovations for the second half of January. We did SO much!
More face-timing with Great Grandma Berg. We miss her so much!
We started removing the siding from the car port, and found LOTS of gecko eggs!
Matix finished his game, "Metroid Dread" and was SO excited!
