child labor

If Matix asks to do the work for Grandma, I don't think this counts as child labor... Does it? :)

Tropical Park

The playground at Tropical park is pretty small. The boys liked it fairly well, but it's not our fav. They did have a see-saw, which was fun. Of course, I got some cute pics. It was a beautiful day out.

park

The boys have been spending almost everyday with Grandma Stacy at a park.

This particular day, I went with, but most days I stay home. They almost always come back with flowers for mommy, and dirty faces (proof of a fun time), and stories about their adventures. It's no fun missing out of the boys' everyday lives, but I am so happy they are having such a great time. Matix likes to push Hawken on the swing, and can you tell that Hawken loves it too?? :)

The walls have these little peek through holes in them. Matix watched a big kid (probably 10 years old) climb up into them and sit there. Apparently that was a very cool thing to do, because Matix insisted that Grandma lift him up there too. Of course, when Hawken sees Matix doing anything new, he has to do it too.

They are such sweet brothers. I love it when they hold hands. :)

haircuts

Time for haircuts! This was Matix's 3rd cut, and it was Hawken's first. Both boys' hair was getting a little crazy in the back. I like their hair long-ish, but not femmy, if that makes sense. :) Okay, Matix! You're first!

The "before" shots... Why does it not grow this thick on the top?? I don't know. But in the back, when it gets long, it gets curly.

Matix was a good boy and it was over with in a few minutes. Layers and blending with only scissors, I really should have thought about this as a career... :)

Hawken's "before" shot. His hair is still so thin and baby-like, but too long in some places.

He sat as still as a 14 month old can sit while mom was behind him doing some very interesting things with scissors... :) but I think it all turned out well, so it was worth the wrestle.

These "after" shots are from a few days later, because he was ready for his bath and wouldn't let me get any good pics on the cut day. So as you can see, still long-ish, not shaved by any means, but a lot shorter than it has been in a while. Cute baby.

thanks

These are the last of the pictures while my mom was here. She stayed an extra week and a half after my ER visit to take care of us.
We feel so blessed to have had her here and to have had all the other help and prayers from our families. Everyone has been so supportive and wonderful. The day my mom left, Paul's mom arrived. She plans to be here until I get off bed rest, whenever that may be. We have also had offers from our families in Utah and Wisconsin to come out as soon as we say so. Really, truly, thank you. :)

milk

My little boys will FINALLY drink milk!! I am so happy. Sadly, I have to add a little strawberry Nesquik, but the sugar content that I am adding is so small, that I don't feel guilty. And eventually we will wean them off of it. :) But I am just so excited that they will finally drink it!!
After living in Dominica, and drinking the nasty milk from there, and then deciding they didn't like yogurt anymore... I was getting worried. Thankfully Grandpa Lee suggested this nasty, I mean, DELICIOUS, strawberry milk. :) The boys love it.

hmmm...

Any resemblance? :)

the birds

Feeding the birds (and chasing them) has become one of the boys' favorite activities. This particular day we were at Fuchs park. I sat on the bench and took pictures while they ran around with the birds. Such a pretty day. Look closely at Hawken's expressions, as he is still a little unsure about that many birds so close to him.

Snails in Miami

For some reason in Miami there are tons of these purple snails located in random places around town.

The boys are fascinated by them. We decided one day to go explore them. They are hard plastic, but very sturdy. Paul and the boys climbed up on it even.

Before we left, Hawken picked me a flower. Following in his daddy's and big brother's footsteps. I love my sweet boys. Are they the best or what? :)

trees

There are some AWESOME trees here. These are just outside the park we like the best. Don't you just love them? They have branches growing straight down into the ground, like they're roots. So fun.
