Lula Lake Trip
The Rogers family went with us up to Lula Lake on the
Saturday before Memorial Day. It
was a long drive, but all the kids (minus Carson’s almost puking…) did really well. On our way!
Hawken was the first to find the perfect walking stick, a
must for the boys.
We stopped at this little part of the river for a quick dip
on our way to the falls. It was a
beautiful walk and the river was very slow and nice for small kids to splash
in.
Sakina thought she was in heaven and went exploring right
along with the rest of us. She is such a good adventuring dog.
Lullaby making crazy faces with Paul. :) I love it.
We had a few snacks and ended up staying in this part of the
river for longer than expected, the kids were just having so much fun.
We decided to continue walking down the path toward the
falls. Matix and Carson led the way.
We ate lunch because by then everyone was starving. Paul and Adam had turns with the
cameras and this is what I got from Paul.
I am not going to include the picture of me eating… full mouth = not a
picture opportunity Paul! :)
The falls were beautiful. We splashed along the edges and
attempted a group shot. Can you
guess who was the runner?
The water was such a pretty color and we were all wanting to
go swimming. BUT… There was a sign posted that read “NO SWIMMING!” What?! We were going to ignore the sign
and go in anyway until a very nice lady came over and explained the sign. She said there was an underground cave
system and all the water that was being collected in the lake from the falls
was then sucked underground for a mile or so and then spat back out into a
river… Hmmm… Glad we didn’t end up going swimming in it then! Thank goodness
that lady came and talked to us.
So we just played along the edges some more. :)
Sakina was exhausted already, and we still had to hike out
plus the mile-ish walk back to the road.
Hiking out. The
boys are so independent now and can do most everything on their own. Such a
blessing. This makes trips like
this a lot more enjoyable for everyone.
This was such a fun adventure and we were so happy to share
it with the Rogers. We love them. We also got a nice family picture. My new favorite.

Home Depot
June’s Home Depot project was an organizer. It’s a little
box with four compartments and a clear lid that slides into place when you
close it. The boys were excited to
go, as usual.
Awkward picture of the year... Matix asked to take a picture, so I gave him the camera, and he directed me to stand next to these nice employees. I did it, although it was pretty ridiculous.
The boys worked very hard on their projects and had a good time. Check out Matix’s tongue. Oh, the concentration…
Lullaby had a good time too. She was sporting her new bow from her friend Allie. The lady from Home Depot took a
picture of her and said she was the cutest kid at the kids workshop. :)
To top it off, they got balloons.
Lullaby fell asleep in the car on the way home. All that manual labor can wear a baby out! How I love
pictures of sleeping babies.
