Random pics

After telling the kids we were hoping for restrictions to be lifted so we could tell our friends we were moving in person, but that didn't happen in enough time. We called the Andersons, the Allens, and the Brewers, our favorites. It was so hard telling them we were leaving over the phone. Then we had FaceTime calls with all the kids, and lots of tears were shed. Running into people we knew, even though we couldn't get too close, was really nice. I love Big Island for that.

Eating to make myself feel better. This was our hardest move ever.

Bedtime stories put Swishy right to sleep. Only a few more nights in their bunk beds!

Sometimes I have Snow White abilities and can call animals to me, for real. It's so fun when I get it on film. This cute little bird was flittering around in the parking lot, I opened the window, and this is what happened.

Video calls with the Anderson kids is always a blast. We love them.

Now there are lines to get into any store, masks required, limited people allowed. So weird.

Erik and Chris came over to collect any tools they wanted. It was sad, but such a huge help to us for them to take the things away.

The kids room was the last to get packed, and yes, we brought the Legos. Of course.

While cleaning out the closet getting things packed, Paul gifted me these shoes early. They were waiting for the next holiday, but this move kind of popped up and surprised us. I love them!

Golden light on my favorite kids on the trampoline. This was the best investment.

More views from above, so fun!

We gave away our tv room couch and the only thing left was a yoga mat and a beanbag chair.

Paul said someday he will miss this, but not today. Mowing the grass in a jungle type setting is wild. We had to cut the grass and do other yard work SO much there.

We shipped our books to the only person on the mainland who knew we were moving, Paul's childhood friend James. We have a lot of books.

We gave away the bunkbeds and the kids slept on mattresses on the floor the last few days.

The Allens brought us food for dinner which was awesome.  They are so sweet.

Then a surprise happened! Just a week or so to go, and they opened the beaches! We met up with Erin and her kids for a much needed beach day.

Paul decided it would save him money to ship his bike, so I got this bike box from a bike store, and we filled it with his bike, and blender and a few other heavy things and sent it on its way.

This isn't my picture, but I was having a particularly hard day, and I got this picture of my niece Rory doing my dads makeup, and made me laugh. It totally turned my day around, thanks dad.

Snow Baby loves to sleep in weird places. So sweet.

Another donation run. We accumulated SO much STUFF it's crazy. It feels great to get rid of things.

I got the paddle board to fit in a suitcase, so we decided to keep it.

Paul's work friends gave him a goodbye lunch and we were invited too. He worked with really good people there, and we miss them!

Bringing a dog and two semi-feral cats to the vet was a wild ride for me. I did it though, and everyone was cleared to fly.

Back at home Grass was reminding us that she'd be just fine at the house without us. She was too feral to tame and is a great hunter, so we left her at the house. She's fixed now, so she won't have to keep having more babies.

Only in Hawaii... Random farm animals roam the streets and sides of the road.

Whiskey doesn't mind not having a couch anymore, she's just as happy on Matix's lap.

So many things to say about the move, but the most important comment on this whole (long) post, is that you have ALWAYS had those Snow White (or animal-whisperer?) abilities! Even as a toddler!
