dance classes

At the end of August, the kids all started dance classes. Matix and Hawken are talking a hip-hop class from our neighbor and friend, Angie Woods. She owns a dance studio in Hilo. Not very many pictures of this dance class because Angie doesn't like parents distracting the kids.  The boys have to wear shoes for this (they're usually barefoot, or in flip flops if they have to wear something), and that's the worst part of dance.

Lullaby and Solace are taking ballet classes from another dance studio.  Their teacher is Ms. Sarah, and first she teaches Solace, then Lullaby. Ms. Sarah is a college student and is so sweet to them. Solace's class is more of a play-based class, whereas Lullaby does barre work, positions, French terminology, etc. The first day of class Lullaby found that the slime she got stuck in her hair did NOT come out in her shower, as she had hoped it would. The hair was completely matted to the slime, and we had to cut a portion of it out. This happened in the parking lot of the dance studio. Thankfully it still fit into a bun, and she was happy as could be to start dancing.
