More of the Kona trip

We got to see the Andersons and the kids went straight back to playing, as if it hadn't been a year since we've seen them. So fun. Erin's sister was there visiting too. 

A friend got this picture of me honking at William in the parking lot. So fun to run into old friends everywhere. 

We went to church at our old ward, and it was great to see everyone again.  Since this was still the thick of the pandemic, we weren't sure how our reception would be, but it was just like normal, plus some masks. 

We drove past our old lot, since the new owners decided to start clearing it. It looks VERY different from the jungle that we left. 

We went to the Allen's house for Sunday dinner. Just like old times! It's nice having friends you can just fall back in with. Audra showed me more of her studio and made me a keychain, that I love! 

Quick stop at the water station to fill our water bottles before driving back over saddle road, and Matix had to see the feral cats.

This has nothing to do with our trip, only that I love when Jolie FaceTimes me so I can see all her animated facial expressions. She's a story teller, like dad. 

New outfits for the beach, yes please. We headed to Two-Step to snorkel and tried to get some friends to join us, but they never made it. We had fun just us anyway. Paul had to work, but the kids and I snorkeled and hunted in the tide pools for eels and hermit crabs.

Then to try and find Kona's best shave ice...

We went to Puako with the Andersons and their family visitors. It was a party, as usual.

Paul brought in huge sea stars and a pencil urchin for the kids to see and touch in the tide pools before releasing them back.

The dad jokes were at an all time high and these two could not stop.

Sleepy ride back home to the hotel. 

Swimming during sunset and enjoying the show poolside, yes please. 

Sleepy morning drive over to Hilo for some fun with friends at Coconut Island.

Audra and I were matching, ha ha ha! 

We already know that Kula shave ice is the best on Hilo side, but we thought we better remind ourselves...

Then to Ken's for Hawk's one ask during the trip. He loves this little diner.

Driving back over the mountain to Kona let us really enjoy the sunset. So pretty.

Another sleeping Paul picture... What day? What occasion? Who knows...

We made the quick drive to 69 Beach. We spent most of the time climbing the trees.

Out to eat and exploring Kona a bit.
