baby birds for a day

Lots of birds make nests in the mango tree in front of our neighbors house, and sometimes that means that the baby birds fall to the ground. Matix and Hawk found these two sweet babies who weren't big enough to fly, squaring around at the base of that tree. We made a little box nest for them, so no one would step on them, and waited.

The parents (who were very angry and loud), found them and brought them food in their box all day, right in front of us, it was really cool to see.  Eventually the parent birds got them back in the tree! It was very exciting. But the kids were sad to see them go.
