Red Bull Race

In the beginning of June Red Bull was holding a soapbox derby in Atlanta, so of course, we went.

It was crazy busy and we had to park a few streets down. The boys were so good to walk the mile(-ish) without any help from us. We found some fun stuff to keep them entertained along the way too.

When we got there they were handing out free flags, keychains, and other small gifties.  They were also giving out free Red Bulls. I personally cannot stand the flavor, but Paul liked it and drank his. They offered the kids some too (hmmm...), we said, no thank you.  Like our kids really need something to give them MORE energy.  :)

We got there early and headed to the playground near where the race would be.  Paul and the kids snacked on some fruit and played for a while.

About 15 minutes until the derby started, we began the walk back to the track.  On the way we saw the "Red Bull air force"dropping in from every direction. They were doing flips and all kinds of tricks.  The kids were all mesmerized, and sadly, Hawken informed me that when he gets bigger, he wants to do it too. :( Scary.

The crowds on each side of the track were PACKED, and it was nearly impossibly to edge our way in, especially with a stroller, so we watched from the lawn.  They had set up a massive screen and the boys were just as happy to watch from there.

Lullaby crashed out and the boys started getting sweaty and cranky (nap time), so we decided to head out. It was a fun and HOT adventure. Next time we are going to have to stake out our spot before the race starts so we can be right in the action.
