Home Depot and the fortress addition!

Last month we were on our way to Home Depot for the “Kids Workshop” when Paul and I spotted something on the side of the road. It was large trash pick-up that day and someone was THROWING AWAY 2 huge playground slides.  We stopped and asked the guy (who was in his driveway) if those were really meant for the trash and if we could take them. He said he ordered a playset from Costco and they accidentally sent him three slides. He had kept them in his garage for about a year and was finally clearing it out.  He said we were welcome to take them, so of course, we DID.  We always keep tie downs in the car, just in case we need them, so we strapped the slides on top and went to Home Depot.  Home Depot was fun as usual. They built little trays for flowers, but we use them for other things.  Lullaby dressed in orange for the occasion.

When we got home, Paul went straight to work. He tore down the ladder from the front of the fortress, added it to the side, knocked out some bars so the boys could crawl through again, cut a few pieces of wood to made the new slides stronger, and added them!  We decided having both slides on one side would be the most fun, now the boys can RACE!

Helpful Hawken...

The boys are IN LOVEEEEEE with their new slides. We are pretty much done with the fortress now… Well, unless we find more free slides… :) It is pretty amazing though huh? Good job Paul!!

And here it is in all it's glory... The latest addition of the fortress!

Lullaby is happy just watching all the action from her favorite spot in the grass.

Ha ha I LOVE that you guys carry tie downs in your car all the time because you never know what great find there might be- and I guess you are right because you guys have gotten a lot of cool free stuff! Wish we lived close to come play!

How fun! There are some crazy road-side finds around here. We have yet to come up with anything good for us, but we've heard plenty of stories like these.

Good talk on Sunday by the way. I didn't get a chance to tell you in person.
