After living in a two bedroom condo for about a year, we realized we were outgrowing our less-than-1000sqft home faster than we had expected. Paul got an opportunity to interview for a job on the Big Island, so he puddle jumped over for the day. 

The interview went really well, and the job offered to him seemed like a great fit. During the interview he could feel the earthquakes that were happening there. It should have felt scary, but he said he felt very calm, like that's exactly where he is supposed to be. The eruption had started in the same town we would be living and working in,  but not in that lava zone. Big island is divided into lava zones, with lava zone 1 being the most likely to get hit, if there is an eruption, followed by lava zones 2-9 for the rest of the island. This new job is in the same town, and zip code where the lava was coming out, but in lava zone 3, which makes it safer. Paul got to do some exploring with our friends who lived on Big Island and got a good feel for what it would be like if he took that job... Spoiler alert, he took it.
