After Kina died, the kids stayed home from school and we spent much of the day crying and sulking. But we also tried to be happy and celebrate Kina's awesome life. We decided that her spirit must still be with us, so we took her to the beach. We showed her where we planted the Christmas tree. We played in the sand mostly, although Matix went in the water.
At dinner time, we ate breakfast for dinner, Sakina's favorite dinner (it was her favorite because the kids would sneak her pancakes). We put the shells we had found that day on the cake pedestal and told stories about Kina. It ended up being a good day. We are all still very emotional about it, and when the kids see pictures or videos of our pup, they cry, but we are comforted knowing she is not hurting now, and she can run again, and she is still with us.

Brings tears.
It's so hard losing those sweet pups. You created another great experience for the kids in remembering the good things about Kina.
