Matix is 7!!!

Matix man, my first born babe, is officially SEVEN YEARS OLD. Which makes me feel ancient. He's done a lot in his short life, and having his third birthday here in Texas makes Texas the place that he's lived the longest. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, then he celebrated his first and second birthdays in Dominica in the West Indies while we lived there. Then his third birthday was in Miami Florida, then his fourth in Decatur Georgia. His 5th, 6th, and 7th were all HERE. Crazy.  He is such an amazing little BIG guy. I'm so proud of the person he is becoming.  Here's a little about Matix at 7 years old…

• He loves being generous and giving to others. He is always the first to give away his money/food to homeless people.
• He always laughs at his own jokes.
• He is always hungry for apples.
• He is as handsome as ever with those big blue eyes and always crazy hair.
• He is always wiggling his loose teeth. There are two and they've been wiggling for months now.

• He likes going to school and being with his friends, although one morning he was tired and screamed at me "I just want to be home schooled!" as I made him cross the street and go to school. He forgot about it by the end of the day and decided to stay at school.
• And he loves to learn new things. It comes easy to him.
• He loves to snuggle when he wakes up.
• He'll still take naps on weekends.
• He hates wearing jeans or anything constricting like that.
• He loves getting his picture taken.
• Creating art is a passion of his. He loves being creative in all capacities.
• Helping Lullaby and Solace is a job he takes very seriously. He loves his role as BIGGEST brother.
• He likes reading chapter books. It takes him a long time to read, but he loves it.
• Skateboarding and surfing are probably his favorite things to do, he is his Father's boy.
• And making people laugh. He's always doing/saying/singing something silly, again, he's his Father's boy.

• He has serious questions about Heavenly Father and other spiritual things. He prays for help finding things a lot, and ALWAYS finds them right after.
• He is quite the daredevil and not afraid of taking risks anymore. He used to be more cautious.
• His favorite movies are the Star Wars movies. 
• He writes me love notes all the time and says he would have married me if I didn't marry Daddy first.
• He stands up for other kids when he sees some injustice happening.
• He has definite ideas about the STYLE of his clothes, and he thinks pulling his socks up as high as they go is pretty cool.
• His best friend is still Hawken, although he loves his friends from school, particularly Shahmeer, Logan R., Jack B., and Alexsei.

• He hates to get hurt and cries louder than you would think possible from such a small person.
• He is sneaky and is often caught in the kitchen, or living room in the middle of the night playing with his Legos.
• His favorite colors are red and black and blue, but adds pink to the list if Lullaby asks so they have that favorite color in common.
• He is very sensitive.
• He gets in trouble for wrestling every time there is an opportunity (not at school - he's an angel there).
• He doesn't like to eat broccoli, or cooked carrots, but will eat everything I give him regardless.
• He LOVES all meats, especially baked Salmon.
• He would rather move to a cold place next because he says he misses snow, but he doesn't like to be cold, he just wants to look at the snow.
• He rides his bike off of jumps.
• He makes us smile everyday.
• He is very kind and thoughtful and gives compliments for no reason at all.

Matix is a one of a kind, and I'm so happy he's been a part of our lives for 7 years now. He keeps us on our toes and always laughing. We love you Matix man. Happy SEVENTH birthday!
