busy day

We planned one day to go to Coconut Island, but when we got there, it was blocked and the grass was being cut, so we couldn't go. So we played at a nearby beach until they were done.  They found lots of treasures, including a parrot fish's mouth bones. They are so strong, they eat coral and are able to break it off with their strong mouth bones.

After a little while, the landscapers were done and we headed over the bridge to Coconut Island. The kids climbed trees, swam in the water, jumped from the ledge, and had a great time.

When the kids started getting hungry for more than just the snacks we brought, we headed to the farmer's market in Hilo and bought the things we needed for dinner and a bunch of strange fruits for our visitors to try.  This was one of the things on Alexandra's bucket list for this trip, and she loved it.

Dad and Jolie got tried rambutans for the first time, the lady let them sample them. Pretty good!

As usual, Liesl was in vegan heaven. When I had them pose for this picture the sun was too bright behind me and it made for some great faces!

Sully and Dad walked together, Sully talking a mile a minute, so cute.

At dinner, we brought out all the weird fruits for them to try. Jolie was not a fan of soursop, although I think it was more a texture problem than a flavor problem. Her faces! Ha ha ha.
Even though soursop wasn't her favorite, she did love lilikoi and ate it every morning for breakfast.

Dad liked it okay, but I don't think it was his favorite either. Paul LOVES it and ate it all himself after everyone was done trying it.
