The kids were invited to be a part of the Kid's Market and they were so excited. A few other kids from our homeschool groups were invited too. The kids got to make and sell homemade things. They had a certain amount of money they started with, then they budgeted out how much they wanted to spend for supplies, and how much they should sell the items for to make their investment back. It turned into such a great experience. The kids made ornaments, magnets, signs, and bake at home cookie mix. They did all the work themselves, and we were so proud.
The day of the sale was so fun for everyone at first. Once the kids made their money back, and made some extra money, they spent some on the other kid's projects. We got some good ideas for next year too, if we are invited back.

What a great learning experience! It has it all: math of course, but also writing, research, advertising, higher lever thinking, economics, and crafting (which makes it all stick in the memory.)
