praying mantis
Paul found this tiny praying mantis hiding on our pumpkin pile on our front porch and Matix wanted to hold it. He is so brave.
Hawken got brave enough to touch it, and loved it until it crawled up to Matix's face and pinched/bit him. He was a feisty little praying mantis and did not like to be held.

Braver than me!!!!!
I've never heard of a praying mantis biting before. Poor Matix, if these bugs only knew how much he loves them.
I read that they can use their little arms to pinch-- all I can think about is how cute the wedding video will be with both of them-- at the same age-- each holding preying matises!!!
