fall festival

We went to the fall (cowboy themed) festival at our church stake center.  The kids wore their hats so I had to snap a few pics before we got there and they got all messy (there was a chili cook-off involved).

Outside there were a few games. Lasso a steer was too hard for my boys but they liked this chicken toss. I don't know if any cowboys ever really toss chickens into a bucket, but the kids had fun.

The lady who decorated the party is a professional event planner, so of course every inch of the space was decorated. The little cowboys (and girl) had fun, and even posed voluntarily for pictures.

This is sister Davis, who Hawken lovingly calls, "Sister Mavis" because he has a train named Mavis.  She teaches his nursery class, and is the sweetest lady. We love her.

Lullaby was obsessed with Daphne's butterfly shirt and chased her and poked her in the butterfly quite a few times. Poor Daphne was not very excited about this.

There was a performance toward the end of the night.  A group of maybe 20 little girls in matching pink hats and bandanas sang cowboy-ish songs. It was cute. You can see them in the background and a very chocolatey Ryker and Lullaby in the foreground. Brownies were served for dessert. Yum.

Lullaby doesn't dance as much anymore, but does show off her baby yoga moves everywhere we go. Downward dog is her favorite. Silly girl.

Hawken and Ryker had a little giggle fest while trying on their hats. This was after the brownies, perhaps a little sugar high? Not sure.

Ariana came and sat with us the whole night. She fed Lullaby like her little baby bird.  When she left to go to the bathroom with her mom and came back she said (to Lullaby), "Was I gone too long? Did you miss me?" Sweet. :)

Right before leaving the party they started the drawing to win a cowboy hat. We already have three, but the boys were super excited about winning the raffle. Luckily, we won one because they were up past their bedtimes and if we didn't win, I could foresee dragging three screaming and crying children out of there alone (Paul was gone on an interview that day).  I somehow did not get a picture of the new hat, but when we got home, Matix wanted his picture taken with me. We set up the timer in the playroom and had some fun before crashing out HARD. They didn't get into bed until 9:30pm. All three slept in the next morning which was AWESOME. I love my silly kids.

Looks like Lully loves hats as much as the boys do. Fun! And I loved the little Matix-and-Mommy time in the playroom. You're such a good Mom.
