Hawken is FOUR!!!

Hawken is 4. FOUR. My sweetest Hawky Bawkers is a four year old. He had to wait SO long for his birthday, and this year was the hardest. He watched as I had my birthday, then Lullaby, and Matix, and Paul... Poor guy with his lonely December birthday. Although he is quite excited now especially because he shares his birth month with Grandpa Chuck and Jesus. :)  Paul left this morning early, and wouldn't be here for his birthday morning, so we let him open some gifts last night. He still has a few more to open on his party day (Saturday).  Thanks to Auntie Robin, Grandpa Chuck, and Grandma Kim. He loves everything!! He got to choose 4 presents and open those. He was spoiled again, and he isn't even done yet.  Lucky boy.

What can I say about this little guy? He is smaller than Matix was at this age, but he can do everything. He has been writing his own name for a while, and can spell a few other words (mom and dad, maybe more). He is CONSTANTLY talking. He would go on forever if you let him, and almost always at a higher volume than necessary. He is a daredevil and will jump off anything, climb anything, touch anything... He keeps me gasping. Hawken talks about himself in the third person, all the time. He asks for treats every single time he does something nice.  He drags his dirty blankie around with him when he first wakes up, and any other time I'm not paying attention to make him leave it in his bed.  He loves to eat vegetables and fruit, but doesn't love meat.  He usually has a dirty face, no matter how many times I wash him, he gets dirty two seconds later. Hawken will tell us each day, which name he prefers. Sometimes it's Hawk, sometimes it's Hawken, other times it has been Iron Man, or Eyeball. Eyeball, by the way, is the funniest word to him. The punchline of all his jokes is eyeball. Hawken laughs at himself. Hawken is a leader, and other kids naturally follow him. He picks me flowers and holds the doors open for others.  He is sweet and thoughtful and wonderful.

Favorite book to read is about Legos.
Favorite scripture story is Nephi Nephi the scriptures are true.
Best friend is Ellie and Logan and Matix.
When he grows up he will be Wolverine.
Favorite place to go is on a hike.
Favorite thing to eat is chocolate milk.

Hawken, you are too much fun. You are the busiest kid I have ever met. You wear down my patience fast. You talk all the time and are bored so quickly. You play nicely with your friends. You wrestle with your big brother. You are always first to help the baby. You get annoyed when everyone doesn't play by your rules. You are an idea man. You make me a better momma. We all love you so much Hawk! Happy Birthday!!
