free Lego build - July

The line for the free Lego build was crazy long this month. Having 5 kids wait in line for almost 2 hours is a true test of how good your parenting is. We played a million games of "I Spy" and another million games of eating pretend food and getting sick (weird, but entertaining). We got the new Lego magazine and window shopped. It was exhausting.

The line slowly made it to right in front of the store and then Paul got there from work. Yay! I took the 4 big kids in the store to look around and build little minifigures while we waited for Paul to get to the very front. They were beginning to run out of the little beach buggies, so we got to choose if we wanted to make that or make a helicopter. My three picked beach buggies, and Alexandra picked helicopter. They all worked hard on their projects, except Lullaby, who only wanted the final product.

Alexandra was especially excited to get it to take home. She has a laundry basket in the playroom, nearly filled with all her LOOT from our adventures. The boys were loving the special surf board piece on the top. Very cool.
And again, as tiring as the waiting on the front end is, the afterward thank you's and wow!'s and can we   please go again?'s always win out. Yes, next month, we'll be there again, waiting in line...

How great that they can handle the long wait! I never would have attempted it. I used to get so disillusioned even waiting 20 minutes to get to see Santa!
