Today was a busy day. We saw Dale and Vanessa and played with their kids in the morning. We picked up secret gifts to deliver to some unsuspecting families. We bought some things to re-do our stairs at Home Depot. We had dinner. We re-enacted the Nativity, several times, with the kids each playing multiple roles (including DUCK, which according to Hawken was in the stable). Lullaby as Mary, Matix as Joseph.
Hawken the shepherd.
Wrapping the baby in swaddling clothes.
The three wise men bringing the baby gifts.
We read from Luke. We delivered those secret gifts and ran back to our car laughing. We called Grandpa Chuck to hear Twas The Night Before Christmas. It was a good day. And now all our children are nestled all snug in their beds and Paul and I are ready to knock out too. I am so thankful to have a deeper meaning to Christmas in our home. It isn't about the gifts (although we are all excited about those too), it's about life and love and being thankful for the beautiful example of our Savior. Merry (almost) Christmas.
