Our community touches Pearl Harbor and we can see the big ships coming in and out. It's very cool. But we are on the west side of it and hadn't been able to go visit the exhibits they have at the museum part on the east side. So, on Veteran's Day, we went. It was very informative and educational. We got to talk to the kids about the war, and all the fighting that went on right where we now live. The kids were fascinated. It was sad too, and sobering, but important to see, and read and learn about.
There are many hands on areas where the kids can touch the old machinery. It was a cool way to learn a bit about this island's history.

I really like the kid-appropriate way that you prepped them for this trip.
That place has really grown and improved since Lee and I first went.
