The big boys had their conferences and both kids are doing great so far in each of their classes. I laughed my way through most of Hawken's conference. Hearing about him, and the way he is in class sounds so much like ME... Paul always teases that Hawken is MY child, and Matix is HIS. Hawken's teacher uses Hawken as an example everyday, depends on him to always follow the directions, and guide other children to doing the right thing as well. He is a good friend, and very smart. Great job Hawk! We are proud of you!
Matix is doing well too, and wanted pictures of a million things. He is so hard on himself when he doesn't do his best, and is so proud of himself when he works hard. He's very self disciplined and will let his own guilt beat him up when he doesn't give something his all. The pictures are of things that he is proud of. Matix is a hard worker, and thinks deeply about things that he learns. He'll announce, "I'm making a connection!" when he can link something he learned to something he's currently seeing or experiencing. He is sweet to his friends and is very sensitive. He gets distracted in his classroom, but loves his teacher. He is smart and kind and is excited about learning.
Some things that his teacher saved out for me to read were these. Matix wasn't as excited about these ones, so I had to take pictures when we got home.
We are so proud of our big boys. Their handwork and determination always show through. They are great examples (most of the time) for Lullaby and Solace. They love school, their friends, and their teachers. Great job boys!

This makes me so proud of you boys for being such good students! And Jessie and Paul for being such role models and parents!
I agree with you, Hawken is Jessie, and Matix is Paul. I'm really proud of the boys accomplishments at school. You boys are awesome! :)
