And just like that, our princess baby turns 3 years old today! She has been waiting forever to really be three. She has lied about it several times, and finally it's true! We love our Lullaby so much. She makes the perfect only sister, surrounded by brothers. She's a good mix of sweet and tough. Today, we went about our normal business. Dropped Matix off at school, came home and had preschool, naps, picked up Matix... But then, when we got home, the birthday fun began. Matix and Paul didn't want to miss out. First she talked with Grandma Stacy, then we had her choice of dinner, tuna sandwiches (weird, I know). We baked some chocolate cupcakes. We opened presents from brothers and parents and grandparents and great-grandparents. She was totally spoiled (thank you!). We played outside on her new skateboard (present from Daddy) and she ended her night listening to her birthday songs on voicemail from Auntie Jolie and Alexandra and then she talked to Grandma Kim. She had a good day.
Here are a few things about Lullaby at 3:
- Lullaby has a HUGE personality packed into a little body.
- She is tall for her age.
- Her hair curls at the bottom still, and is getting SO long.
- She has all her teeth (for once in her life).
- She sings everywhere she goes.
- She is the boss of all situations.
- She pronounces her own name "Lulli-bye", which is adorable.
- She is emotional and takes care of others.
- She loves her baby dolls and her brothers (about the same).
- She wears several different outfits each day, usually at least one dress up outfit that she BEGS to wear out of the house.
- She wants to be a "princess super hero" for Halloween, but only because all the Elsa costumes were gone when we went shopping for costumes.
- She recognizes her letter "L", and on good days, can spell her name, but it has to be on her terms.
- She eats everything we give to her, but especially loves dairy.
- She dances when a good song comes on, but not if it was your idea.
- She makes the silliest faces, all the time.
- She loves potato bugs, but is scared to death of other bugs.
- She loves Sakina and other dogs who are small, but big dogs make her cry.
- Her favorite colors are pink and purple, even though we have never pushed that.
- She wants to wear her pink flip flops every day.
- She loves the ocean and pool and wants to be in the water over any other place.
- She is in love with her daddy, and when he is around, no one else matters.
- She loves to snuggle with me when she wakes up in the morning and after naps and says the sweetest things.
- She gallops everywhere she goes, although she calls it skipping.
- Her favorite show is My Little Pony, and she's having a pony party in a week and a half.
- She loves the movie Frozen and can quote a lot of it, songs and lines.
- Her face is usually messy, I keep wipes in the car just for her.
- She has been potty trained for a long time now.
- She knows all her colors and a few numbers and letters.
- She can count very high, until I am bored of listening.
- She loves having preschool here and participates in several of the activities, but not all.
- She can buckle her own carseat buckles.
- Lullaby is 34 pounds and 37 inches tall, only slightly shorter (but heavier) than Hawken.
- She tries to run as fast as the boys but still has a very babyish gate.
- She loves animals (in cages and only for viewing).
- She still thinks that band aides work for everything, including hurt feelings.
- She says "No." a lot. A LOT.
- She is brave and can climb anything on the playground.
- She is beautiful and sweet and kind.
- She is learning to be soft with Solace and other kids smaller than her.
- Her best friends are Zoe, Sophia, and Summer (her words).
- She loves to read books and do puzzles.
- Her favorite toys are her dolls that have snap on clothes.
