Matix is 6!!!

Matix man! Mattie Batty! Our Matix turned 6 today! SIX! That's more than one hand! What? He is such an amazing little person, and is getting better and better everyday. He is as stubborn as you can be, but usually, so good. Today our church was later than usual, so we had time for some birthday waffles and presents from family. Thank you to grandmas and grandpas and great grandparents too. He loved everything.

Matix is super excited for his birthday party which will be in a couple weeks. He has too many friends now and the list of people he initially wanted to invite to his party was too many to fit in our house. He is loving school and all the new people he has met.  His party is LEGO themed and lots of his presents were Lego themed today too. You know him well!

A few things about Matix at 6 years old:

• He is tall for his age.
• He still takes naps when he can (although we skip on school days).
• His hair is getting long again, and still curls at the ends.
• He looks backward while he is running and walking, and ALWAYS trips over something.
• He is brave, but clumsy, and gets hurt a lot.
• He is very emotional, in both good and bad ways.
• He loves his friends and is very loyal.
• His brother Hawken is still his best friend.
• His favorite colors are red and blue, and have been the same for a long time.
• He loves to read non-fiction books and get information.
• His favorite things to watch on TV are about killer animals, or dangerous things, like "Nature's Deadliest".

• He talks and talks and talks, and never gets to his point. 
• He gets frustrated easily, especially when he's tired.
• He sings songs he's made up about everything.
• He likes play time, now more than ever, and is not excited about being busy doing anything else.
• He is learning some sight words, although he doesn't like performing, only on his terms will he showoff his new skills.
• He can ride a bike withOUT training wheels, which he learned on his first try. It was crazy.
• He loves to ride his skateboard and is getting good on it too.
• He loves surfing and can stand now and paddle out. 
• He loves snuggles from momma when he wakes up, or if he gets hurt.
• His favorite person is his dad, and insists that he is the first one to hug/kiss him when he gets home.

• He likes to help, and does help out quite a bit.
• He likes to make his bed and straighten the bookshelf and other little tidying tasks like that.
• He likes all food, that's never been a problem for him.
• He is happy and fun most of the time.
• He is calm at home, but performs and becomes a wild person when we go to friends houses.
• He is a stinker at night and often gets in trouble for throwing pillows at Hawken when it's time to be sleeping.
• He is clever and a good problem solver.
• He loves blowing spit bubbles, which makes me crazy, but he loves it.
• He loves tickle fights and starts them all the time.
• He loves to dance and be silly.
• He is sweet.

• He always has scrapes on his knees, and sometimes elbows.
• He loves to draw, especially tigers. He's an artist.
• He's curious about the world and soaks in all the information he gets.
• He is easy to make smile, even when he's trying to be mad.
• He loves treats and asks for them after most of the good things he does.

Matix is our BIG boy. He is so special and wonderful and full of life. We love him so much and canNOT believe that somehow he turned 6 today. Happy birthday baby!
