Our first attempt to go to the Barnacle House was unsuccessful, we did end up going the next day, and I already posted about that. It is apparently closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, AND Thursdays... Random much? :) Anyway, we didn't check that and when we got there we read the sign, oh well. Matix making a sour face because the park was closed. :)
So we went on a walk instead. It is in a little place called Coconut Grove. Very cute and friendly. There are wild peacocks here, just roaming around, and there were tons of statues of them there for the boys to discover. So fun.
We saw a park on the way to the barnacle, and since we had already paid for parking, we thought we might as well use it. So we walked back to the park and it turned out to be a great one. It was made specially for small children, and everything was made so that my boys could access it. I love it! This sign reads "Pre-school aged playground".
The boys had a great time on all the equipment, they have become quite the little playground masters since we moved here. The playground was covered and surrounded with HUGE shady trees so nothing got too hot to touch (that is a big pet peeve of mine).
In the corner of the park there was also a little skate park area. It was filled with kids aged 6-ish to 15 or so. Matix watched for a VERY long time. So long that he needed to pull up a chair. It was so cute watching him watch them. He would cheer for them when they did a good job, and say, "OH BOOM!! You okay guy?" when they fell down. Adorable.

What a good idea! I need one of these parks for my timid little boy.
