trunk or treat & trick or treat

We had a few costume changes last minute, but this is what I thought everyone was going to wear. Matix was Kylo Ren (the new bad guy from Star Wars), Hawken as Yoda, Lullaby as Dorothy, and Sully as the cowardly lion…

We had to take Sully's lion costume off for the car ride to the church, but he refused to out it back on. He super hated wearing it, so I was prepared, and brought a skeleton sweatshirt, which he loved.  At the trunk or treat there were lots of activities, and of course, getting CANDY. Sully tried the bobbing for apples game, but couldn't figure it out and cried for an apple and they gave him one. Stinker.

Hawken and Summer gave it a try and they both figured out how to grab the stem.

Matix found another Kylo Ren. He was really bummed when we first got there and they told him he couldn't wear a mask. He pouted for a while, but then got over it and joined us, which was good. I didn't want him to miss out, but he needed to figure it out for himself.

Paul got the best dad award again dressed up in this hilarious ONE-PIECE Darth Vadar outfit to make his boys happy. He's such a good sport.

Grandma Stacy sat with the little ones while they dug into their candy buckets.

Then we made the long ride up to Spring to go trick-or-treating with Dale and Vanessa and their family. Dale had been camping, so we weren't sure if we were going to go up there until the last minute.

We didn't plan it or know about it, but Gavin was a storm trooper, so he fit right in with our family! The boys were so happy!

Lullaby and Linnaea spent most of the time hand in hand while trick-or-treating.

The kids taking a break from running house to house. Sully did really well and walked most of the time by himself. Once he figured out that he was getting candy at each house, he stuck to it, and got just as much as the big kids.

Just before calling it quits, we went to the SCARY HOUSE. The guy sort of dialed it down when he saw the little kids coming, but he had a huge machete and a scary clown mask.  My brave big boys even wanted a picture with him!

It was a very fruitful Halloween. We got home very late from trick-or-treating, but the next day, they dumped all their candy together and sorted it.  So much fun. Happy Halloween!
